I love this joint. I go there whenever I can, even if it means flying solo. The Bar staff pours a mean drink and the specials throughout the week are great. The wait staff is also top-notch. Especially "Nicole", that gal is both a pleasure to deal with and to look at. Her only fault is the fact that she is a dirty colts fan, but if the Bears are winning she'll give you a high five if you ask.

Merkle's is by far the best bar in Wrigleyville, including the Southport area too! The food there is waaaaaay above bar food standards. Their buffalo wings are always awesome and the burgers kick serious ass. Service is always fun and attentive. Great place to watch football, or any game for that matter, they always have cheap specials!

This bar has the worst kitchen staff, meanest doorman, uncompromising management and make it difficult to put money in their register. They misplace food orders, the food is bad, and the doorman act more like door goons than door men. Had the worst restaurant / bar experience of my life and management was disinterested in remedying mistakes. Waitress was nice and tried her best, but wasn't given much to work with. Hospitality is not in Merkle's vocabulary

Merkles is the best. My friends and I always go here if we want a chill week night out or a nice start to a weekend night. The staff are so friendly and I always have such a great time. They have good specials on drinks too. Oh, and Dave the bartender rocks!

Without a doubt the best Wrigleyville Bar. Without the pomp and circumstance of other bars in the area, Merkles offers a neighborhood feel with great drink specials and great service. Unlike other places in the area, they do not herd people in and out and the door staff don't come with the over bloated ego's. The owners are all out and present to meet and greet the customers and address any questions that come there way. Definetly a must go for all pre & post game Cubs, Bears, & Illini Games!

I had not been to Merkles in a long time. Probably since last Cubs season. I went for a friends birthday party a couple weeks ago and it was as great as always. I now remember why it became my favorite pre and post Cub game bar. The onle REAL bar in wrigley

BY FAR the BEST sports bar in Wrigleyville. Some of the nicest service I have ever had in Chicago. The food is second to none in that area, and I have eaten in many Wrigleyville sports bars. The Nachos are amazing, and I am a regular for their 20 cent wings on Wednesdays.

I am going to have to agree with Kelly ^^, I was in Chicago visiting some friends from LA, and I have to say Merkle's threw one of the best Halloween Parties I have ever been to. We came back on Sunday for football and Merkle's didn't disappoint! I will be here every time I visit. Thanks Merkle's!
