Went with my husband to watch the Redskins game. He had a brilliant time. I thought it was quite crowded and noisy due to all of the fans, but that was something I should have been more prepared for. The only thing I really didn't like was that they don't serve food. We will most likely be back since this is undoubtebly the best redskins bar in the area.
Report This ReviewI love this fun little neighborhood bar. Everyone there seems to be having such a great time. I have been a couple times and each time i go I wonder why we dont hang out there more often. It is not one of those HUGE bars--it is smaller in size, but it is so much fun. I recommend this place for meeting up with friends and trying something new.
Report This ReviewMaeve has a solid wine list for a small, neighborhood bar. Regular drink specials throughout the week. Great spot for an after work cocktail with a few cohorts on a week day. The weekends are more crowded and can be lively/collegiate. Normally a 25 - 35 year-old crowd. Not a bad Sat. night option pending your mood. Typical of a neighborhood hangout, you can expect a few extra patrons in winter.
Report This ReviewIf you like tiny bars packed with dancing trixies, then the pretentious, out of the way Maeve is right up your alley (or 20 blocks west of your alley). It's greatest attribute is it's proximity to the liquor store where you can buy an entire bottle of wine for the price of a glass at Maeve, and avoid the obnoxious atmosphere.
Report This ReviewI was at Maeve last weekend for a friend's birthday party and I found it to be one of the best taverns in the city. We had a great time, the staff was wonderful and the bar is handsome! Maeve doesn't have a kitchen, so we got the best of all world's and ordered in from three different restaurants!
Report This ReviewThis bar is completely out of place in its location and is something I would expect to find on Clark Street near Wrigley Field. The atmosphere was like a high school dance except there was no room to dance. The seating is very limited and the music is so loud it is nearly impossible to carry on a conversation. The drinks were outrageously expensive and there is no food available.
The only bright spot was that the bar tenders did an excellent job of pumping out the booze even though the bar was very, very crowded, so at least the service was good.
If you are looking for a neighborhood bar to hang out and actually talk, go across the street to Tavish where you can save $1-2 per drink and also get some food if you are hungry.
Report This ReviewI don't know understand why people call Maeve a restaurant. There is no kitchen!!!! It is a great neighborhood bar! The staff is friendly and really do know most of the clientele. There are also quite of few hotties that frequent the place. One of my favorites in chicago.
