I admit my bias: I don't believe a sports bar fits in Logan Square. I do like sports bars when I want to watch Monday Night Football, but even MNF was lacking in enthusiasm from Logan Bar and Grill. This place does not fit the atmosphere of Logan Square, and I understood that walking in. But if it was a transplant from Wrigleyville, I expected it to at least be a good transplant. I came for MNF, but by halftime, there were three people in the entire restaurant. My first server didn't even know what a stout was (or that a Guinness was an example of one). After she left, I waited an hour and a half--yes, an hour and a half--before another server came to ask me how I was doing, and then promptly ignored my empty beer glass. I ended up having to get my drink from the bar tender, then waited another half an hour for the server to come back, which she never did. I left after third quarter, and it had nothing to do with the game. Logan Bar doesn't have its identity square yet, and I'm afraid it just doesn't belong.
Report This ReviewIf you are eating, order a burger or something fried. Although they have tried to expand the menu, most of it is awful. My gf and I were there last night and the waitress warned us not to try the pasta or salads, so I decided to go with a stir fry. It was terrible. To be fair, the crowd is great and I love having drinks here. Logan Square needed a place like this. A new chef and this place could be 4 or 5 stars.
Report This ReviewSeriously, you have to take this place for what it is. It's a nice bar with bar food. You are not going to get a creative menu, just most of the main staples. I went there the other night to watch the Bears game and left in the first quarter. The bartender decided that it was a good idea to put on music during every commerical, and then forget to turn the sound on when the game came back on. But the worst thing was the fact that the sound for the game was absolutely horrible. I was there with about 15 people and the service was really good. The food came out quickly but was nothing special (what do you want for $7 chicken fingers). I would definately go there to hang out with friends on the weekends, but never again for a Bears game.
Report This ReviewI could not be more pleased with Logan Bar & Grill. FINALLY a great place in Logan Square for lunch...going to Lula everyday (but Tuesday) was fun, but getting old. The Logan Bar & Grill has tasty food, great beer & food specials and friendly service. We went there with our 2 kids for lunch and had phenomenal service. We will definitely go back for lunch & dinner!!! Thanks to the owners for a yummy Logan Square restaurant!!
Report This ReviewThe Logan looks great and the staff does their best but it isn't enough. I gave this place a shot after work and on this past Sunday for "brunch." The kitchen doesn't seem to be a scratch kitchen but rather a "heat it up out of a box" kind of place. If you are looking for tasty food in the neighborhood you are better off continuing to patron neighborhood favorites. I still disappointed by boyfriend talked me out of the Cozy Corner for breakfast, since I could not stomach finishing what was on my plate.
Report This ReviewFrom the fake smiles you get when you enter to the sneering stares you get from management throughout your visit, Logan Bar has definitely killed your image of the quaint, familial intersection here in Logan Square. The SERVICE is absolutely slow, it takes about 10 minutes for the staff to realize they have a table and another 15 minutes to get a beer (of which they have a poor variety and no knowledge whatsoever of what each beer is or what they even have available). God forbid the staff know anything about the food or drinks. The FOOD...let's just say there is a wide variety of nothing. Seriously, why would you offer what you call "nachos autentico," which by the way, are not authentic at all, when I can go next door to Taqueria Moran or 2 Amigos and get the real thing. The one thing you may have going for you is the Linguini Riccardo that's semi-decent. The food is just flavorless. The BEER list is not extensive at all and the bartenders need some training on pouring a good looking glass of beer. All in all, the place needs new staff, new food, & new beer.
Report This ReviewWhere else in Logan Square can I watch the Tigers and drink Bells, this place is great good food and all that very friendly staff the hippy hipsters wont like it cause its not dirty and doesn't smell bad oh well its time we got a bar around here that the people who go to it wear deodorant.
Report This ReviewWhat is a Wrigleyville bar doing in my neighborhood!?! I have lived here for five years now and I love the dive bars, the all night burrito joints. I love the tamale man who stops in to say hello as your drinking your $2.75 rum and coke at the Bob Inn. The neighborhood is rich in individuality and the last thing it could ever possibly need is a crappy cookie cutter bar (which it is, an exact model of a previous bar) with overpriced drinks, impersonal service, and bad food. Give me my Whirlaway, my Ronny's, my Bob Inn, my REAL neighborhood bars where the owners actually do know your name, because they tend bar every night! As for food, child please, do yourself a favor and go next door to Taqueria Moran (not even listed in Metromix, go figure) http://www.centerstagechicago.com/restaurants/taqueria-moran.html. One of the best Mexican restaurants in the city, they also serve some excellent margaritas! Believe me, once you try their food, you will thank me for the suggestion!
Report This Reviewhint hint - this is Logan Square..not Wicker Park, not Lincoln Park. If you want this place to succeed with regulars and the neighbors well you better start listing a real "special" of the day - everyday. And not just a menu that says todays specials that range from $8-12. I mean come on..wheres the one day a week $2-3 drafts or $.25 cent wings?? Your gonna need that so why not get it going now? Place is real nice, real charming. Staff is cute and security is plentiful which I thought was smart. The service..so far for me is great! But seriously...this place needs a daily special that will bring em in.. until then I reserve this place for a 1-3 times a month visit..not one of my usual watering holes..catch my drift??
Report This ReviewOverpriced and we waited at least 20 minutes per drink after we ordered them. I must say the bus boys were great with picking up dishes and keeping my water glass full.
