Looking at the gang graffiti on the outside walls of this bar, most people would be afraid to even walk by. But once you step into Jagiellonia, fear is not what you'll experience. The black and white interior is done in a contemporary European look, highlighted by a granite bar counter top. The interior was done to create a familiar surrounding for the majority of customers who are from Poland. Jagiellonia, named after the oldest university in Poland, is typical of the pubs that can be found there. According to Janusz, the bar's owner, "about 80 percent of my customers are from Poland, 19 percent are Polish-American and the rest are Spanish or American.'' Most customers are friendly and just want to talk and relax. There are electronic games, dart boards and a pool table. While at Jagiellonia, try a cold Polish "piwo" (beer). American and German beers are also available for the less daring.
