For a smaller but certainly not less lively sports bar, Higgins' Tavern has been filling up patrons - and Michigan State fans - since 1990 with inexpensive beer and home-cooked food. Every winter owner and namesake Jim Higgins hosts a chili cook-off, which draws much more than the usual Lake View locals for free body-warming chili.
