Gold Star Bar
- Neighborhood: East Village / Ukrainian Village
- 1755 W. Division St.
- Chicago, IL 60622
- 773-227-8700
Though there's nothing fancy or especially charming about this ultra-divey bar in Ukrainian Village, cheap beer is definitely a draw. Bottles of Bud and Old Style cost 2 bucks, and an extra 50 cents will get you any domestic. Take your extra quarters and plunk them in the jukebox--full of tunes from the likes of Tom Waits to Thin Lizzy. Feel an inexplicable chill not brought on by your cold beverage? Tall tales of ghosts haunt this joint, which has been around since Prohibition.

My favorite dive bars
These places won't make you girly drinks. They might not even clean the floors. Just the way I like it.
