Floyd's Pub opened its Bucktown doors July 23, 2004 and has become what owner Tony Glanz calls, "a really clean dive bar with really good food." Many patrons may enjoy the friendly staff and customers in a Floyd's Pub experience that is non-swanky or pretentious, a relief for those tired of some of the neighborhood's other bars. The Floyd's Pub menu features what many would call "bar food," but everything is made from scratch and seems to fit in a higher-end category, though no entree costs more than $9.95. Patrons enjoy the Monday-Saturday daily $5 entree--Wednesday features Meatloaf and Gravy--and the full bar that stocks six beers on tap and 20 bottled varieties. Mojito's stand as Floyd's Pub's specialty. The $7, 16-oz. drink features lime, simple syrup, lime slices, mint sprigs, Bacardi rum and soda water. The velvet Elvis posters lining the walls add to the decor. Patrons can also be entertained with the Golden Tee 2005 video game, electronic darts and the jukebox that features rock and alternative-rock favorites.
