have fun waiting 30 minutes for a drink. Not even just me...every person at this bar was confused. the shocking part is that they weren't even super busy until later on. i finally had to stop one of the bartenders, and asked if i could order my round. he got flustered and told me "dude, i'm totally super swamped right now." are you kidding me...this place is a joke.
Report This ReviewIf you're in the mood for something a little different from the usual dark, drab, Chicago style "Taverns," try Fizz. I say a little different because in actuality it's pretty similar to most bars in the area. But it has it's charm. The gem of this bar is the outside patio. One of the last few places where you can sit outside and have a beer and a smoke. And while I'm not a smoker, I can appreciate the effort the bar went through to keep their patrons coming back. Pretty reasonable prices. Better than average food. Everything I've had here is delicious. From the oversized buffalo chicken sandwich, to the chicken salad tostadas, to the fantastic fried potato salad, everything is amazing. Overall, I would highly recomend Fizz for a few beers, some great food, and a few laughs with friends at their outside patio. Check it out!
Report This ReviewAs a musician, I love original music, but with this being a party I was throwing for a friend, I knew she would want to dance to songs she knew and loved. I called ahead to confirm there was a cover band at this location on the Friday night I planned on attending (3/21/08). I was told there would be a band in the "loft" area where there was room to dance. When we arrived, the band that was playing was a good band who billed themselved as a "funk, R&B and soul band covering Stevie, Jamiroquai, and Sly", however did not know "Signed Sealed Delievered" or "Superstition," (which I consider essential Stevie Wonder) and at the request of playing something fast-paced and danceable weren't able to come up with something despite stating they covered Sly and the Family Stone, I was severely disappointed. To the band and the bar, don't billl yourselves as something that you are not.
Report This ReviewI had a company team party at Fizz and had a real good experience. First of all the bartenders at Fizz are top notch, they are fast and make great cocktails. The drink varity
is awesome as well, you can get everything from Mojoito's to Mai Tai's which is not that common at other bars. The food is great as well, the chicken tenders are AWESOME. They have some of the best bar food, that's my opion.
The management at Fizz is so terrible, I don't understand how they are even in business. We had a bday party for a friend there. I booked the outside area WITH a bar and private bartender 6 months prior and paid a deposit. When I confirmed the details a month prior, well they gave that area away. Then when got there I told them my party would just go to the bar, said they couldn't do that either and I had to put it all on one tab. Luckily one waitress was amazing and able to handle multiple tabs while cocktailing. I had to ask them to bring out the food (that was pre ordered) 4 times. I mean some chicken tenders and chips and salsa? It was incredibly stressfull and I will NEVER go back. I would also caution anyone who wants to have a party at Fizz. Go somewhere else!
Report This ReviewFirst of all, the service was totally awesome! talk about the best, most unpretentious bartenders around....and the food is great and really really reasonable. I would definitely go back. Great beer garden!
Report This ReviewThe service was great but the music was deafening, even at 9 PM when the crowd was still small. I ate as fast as I could and immediately headed for the door but my ears still rang for the remainder of the evening.
Report This ReviewMy husband and I had our reception at Fizz in the private room upstairs last September (2006). It was fabulous!!! We were looking for a non-traditional setting, but still classy and Fizz accomplished that and more. The staff was awesome to work with both prior to and at our wedding reception. The room was perfect -- ambiance, the table settings (which they set up for us... beautiful) it felt like we were in an art gallery type setting. The food was awesome!!! Wesley worked very closely with us to pick out the perfect menu, and it lived up to our expectations. EVERYONE had a fabulous time!!! We would definitely have another event at Fizz!!! Check it out for your next private event. (Great outdoor patio for private parties too!!!)
Report This ReviewThere was nothing exciting about this place. I went with a small group for some Halloween Martini's advertised on Metromix. The server and the bartender had never heard of the Martini's and would not make them. Our server was rude and everytime we asked her a question, she refered us to the menu. She had been working there for a year and a half and did not know any of the answers to our questions. The atmosphere is not bad, but the employees should be fired! I will NEVER go back.
Report This ReviewBest overall var/grill in the area. People are friendly, food is great, and they have pretty good drink specials. I love this bar.
