Cover charge???

Overall rating:

Why charge a cover charge if the people coming in can not even hear the band. They now have the band playing in the back room, which happens to be separated from the rest of the bar by a brick wall. We all ended up paying a cover charge for a band we could not even hear. I know many people will continue to go there because of the atmosphere of the Emerald Isle but I for one do not plan on going back anytime soon.

It is a really nice looking neighborhood bar but what is up with the cover charge? First of all, bands play in the back now. Why charge everyone who walks in the front when you can just charge who goes in back?

Other than that, everything else is really good for a neighborhood bar.

Cover is way too high for a neighborhood pub and usually not worth the "band" that is featured. Metro mix has it wron when they say $1-3. It is usually $5+ Beer Garden is nice, but go on a weeknight.

I went with a group of people on a Saturday night. We were told the band started at 10. It started doing sound checks at 11 and that lasted over 45 minutes for a band that was better off NOT singing at all. The drinks were more ice than anything, but the service was quick. Wouldn't recommend it and with all the other places with live music, I wouldn't go back.

This is a great neighborhood bar that now has a beer garden in the back! Bartenders are friendly and the building is unique. The bar food menu is extensive and a great deal at the low prices they charge.

Most over-rated place in Edison Park. There is absolutely nothing special about this place. I don't even think they have Guiness on tap! For a true Irish pub, go to Vaughn's down the road.
