The original Durty Nellie's was built in 1620 near the Bunratty Castle in County Clare. (Nellie herself is rumored to be a feisty Irish woman who tended bar long ago.) The Palatine location takes a cue from the original, serving traditional Irish pub grub like Gaelic fish and chips and chicken and potato pie in a dim, woody atmosphere. Less authentic items include crispy flatbread pizzas, "Belfast bombers" (a trio of mini burgers or pulled pork sandwiches). The restaurant doubles as a live music venue, featuring everything from rock to house to acoustic sets. Electronic darts, Golden Tee and an internet jukebox round out the entertainment.
