This carnivore got excited about Duke's after reading multiple reviews about the great burgers. Visited this past Saturday night in the middle of a huge snow storm after having a heck of a time trying to find parking. I opened the (unlocked) door at 4:50pm, saw two younger guys setting up, neither of whom acknowledged me until I walked to the back of the bar and asked if they were open. "We open at 5" he said impatiently. "Can I look at a menu until then?" He looked at his watch and pondered. "You'll have to come back at 5." Then he went back to setting up, oblivious to my presence. I did not come back and hope they learn to treat potential customers with more care--especially when they are covered in snow.
Report This ReviewWent to Duke's on Saturday night after a long day of shopping. I was starving and their burger hit the spot. I'm a classic cheeseburger girl so stuck with that and got fries on the side. Loved the homemade fries and the Angus burger was exactly what I needed! I will go back here again in a heartbeat.
Report This ReviewWe planned to go to Duke of Perth, but until we sat down we realized it was not. However we did not regret! The burger here was pretty good! not greasy at all. I ordered wahoo Baja wth onion ring!!! I love it. but the beer is not fresh draft. Besides, everyting is perfect ..nice vibe! thumb up.
Report This ReviewI have been there a couple times. They only have two servers/bartenders, so you basically have to set up road flares to get a drink, which is usually not served with a smile.
The drinks are good - but the service needs to be overhauled.
Report This ReviewThis place probably has some of the best burgers in Chicago, hands down. The burger is not a normal burger, it is a steak burger and is well worth the ~$10. Not to mention, the enormous amount of fries or onion rings you can get as a side. I think this is my new favorite burger place. Also, the decor is great, definitely a lot nicer than I had expected prior to going.
Report This ReviewDelicious food, great drinks, and excellent service. Hands-down the best neighborhood hangout without the Lincoln Park arrogance.
Report This ReviewSo much delicious food for such a resonable price. Everytime I go there I have leftovers. The option of burger, turkey burger, veggie burger or chicken with any of their combos is a fantastic thing! This has become my new favorite burger joint in the city. I don't want the secret to get out too far, but I have to rave about this place - It is AWESOME! (plus the staff is so nice!!!)
Report This ReviewI have been to Duke's quite a few times because I can't get enough of their croutons with their caesar salad. The best croutons I've ever had. I'm not into the crowded stuffy little dirty bars so this place fit my needs 100%. I've also tried the garbage and blt burger and it was incredible. If you want an excellent burger I would definitely recommend this place. Portions are big so bring an empty stomach. This place is very nice and quiet. The interior decor of the place makes you want to sit there for hours and just talk to your friends and drink. Besides the food, the service is great there and that is why I enjoy going there. I would recommend this place to all my friends.
Report This ReviewThe burger I had was unbelievable. Each table gets cottage fries when you sit down. Service is wonderful and beer was cheap. If you love burgers and a chill atmosphere you should check this place out
