Coogan's is a spiffed-up old-time saloon with windows facing out onto both the Chicago River and Wacker Drive. It draws a noisy, youngish after-work crowd as well as opera-goers looking for a sandwich or salad and a beer before "Aida." The African mahogany bar was built in 1898.
