Great Purdue Bar! The Stacks of Chicago
By durrgirl from Naperville , September 21, 2009

On Saturday I went to Clybar with my fellow Purdue alumni friends. It was one of the best times I've had all summer. Ryan, the owner, is super nice and down to earth. He shares the love of Purdue like many of the customers that were there. Justin was a fantastic bartender. Both Ryan and Justin made everyone feel welcome and offered great conversation. Clybar has a perfect location on the corner with lots of fresh air breezing through the wide windows. It's a clean place with hardood floors, lots of seating (tables and booths), great dance floor, clean bathrooms, TONS of Purdue memorabilia and flat screens to watch the Boilermakers. The prices are really descent too!

f you are a Purdue alumni and looking for a bar to feel like home, this is it. My friends and I decided Clybar is the Stacks or Harry's of Chicago. The food is great, the DJ is great. By far the best place to spend a sunny Saturday afternoon watching Purdue football or basketball. My friends and I are planning to go back real soon.

Hidden Surprise

A truly remarkable find in a neighborhood nondescript location. My husband and I were out for a walk this past hot and humid Sunday morning and we came across Clybar. They had brunch advertised, so we decided to check-it-out. Amazing warm atmosphere with real local charm (excellent place for fellow Purdue alumni). Extremely friendly and attentive staff and owner, we met the new owner and he just reopened the bar that week. The brunch was excellent and the bartender made a fantastic Bloody Mary. We will definitely be back to try the regular menu and cheer Purdue onto victories come September. This place seems to have excellent value for your money and I'd recommend checking it out!

I recently dined at Clybar and was pleasantly surprised. The food was very good and reasonably priced (and they did not have your typical bar menu). I would defintely recommed it to others!!!

Recently stopped in there on my way to another bar and stayed until 2 am! The Cheese Curds were the best I have had since the Pub II at ISU, and the chicken fingers and chili were very good too.
Bartenders were friendly and attentive and hot (except for the dude). I will definitely be back, especially once the weather gets warm and all the windows are open and the outdoor seating is set up.

My girls and I stopped there for some drinks & food before a night out. All of the food was really good, more upscale bar food. The staff is great and the crowd was fun, we ended up staying there all nite!

Absolutely brutal. Bartenders were the rudest women I've ever met. I wish there was a -3 for the service. Horrible. Never go back. No one should. Place will have different name in 1 year. And it will still suck.

Clybar is a great place to watch a game. They have giant TV's you can see from anywhere in the bar. If you are playing golden tee you can see the game. The staff is friendly and very attentive. This is a great place to hang out and meet new friends. Fun people and no attitude.
