my girls and I went to this bar and it was great. loved the bartenders and the atmosphere. It is a bit of a hole in the wall but everyone was friendly and we got great food at nearly bar close. would definitely go again and would recommend it to others. Oh, and really...three floors...that was crazy
Report This ReviewThis place was amazing.. we went there at 3 am and it was happening. Keep on bringing the hotttt men, especially on second floor Bar. Also, loooove the bartenders who kept giving free shots.. xoxo
Report This ReviewIt's the late night hook-up bar in old town, like Lakeview's Big City Tap or Wrigleyville's Tais 'til four. In short, it is music from a juke box, pool tables, lots of smoke, reasonable drinks, not much seating. and people looking for action. Not a bad bar, can be pretty fun, but know what you're getting into if you're going late on a Saturday night...
Report This Reviewwe came here sunday night after zanies. 25 cent wings were great. the beer isn't cheap, but if you're going there to eat it's a good value. I hear $1 burgers for M N F too.
I was glad to find a place open late with other people there on a late sunday evening. dim lights and good background music made for an enjoyable atmosphere (along with plenty of sports on the tv's.
only problem was when i asked for the bill the bartender wrote up twice as much as i owed. I called him on it and he said oops and fixed it. i didn't even look drunk!
Burton Place has a great neighborhood/hole in the wall type feel. To add to the mystique, there are bars on the second and third floors that each have their own laid back feel. It's almost like three separate bars in the same building. I've often been to Burton Place on the weekends since Marge's on Sedgwick closed. There is a pretty large selection of tap beers and a fairly extensive food menu (which serves until 3 A.M.). My biggest complaint, however, is the bartenders. With one exception, they are rude and standoffish--not very neighborhood bar like. Imagine taking the bartenders from an uptight danmce club and employing them at a neighborhood bar. That's Burton Place. The music is almost always bearly audible and it sometimes feels like a church in there (again because of the bartenders' control over the music, TV, etc.). This place is hit or miss, but overall, its a good place with even greater potential.
