Wise Fools Pub
- Neighborhood: Lincoln Park
- 2270 N. Lincoln Ave.
- Chicago, IL 60614
- 773-929-1300
After opening as an anything-goes music venue in 1968, this brick-walled pub saw more than two decades of success with South Side blues legends like Buddy Guy and Koko Taylor taking the stage. A remodel in 2008 brought Wise Fools Pub to the modern age: Six flat-screen TVs keep sports fans happy, a state-of-the-art sound system pumps up the volume when rock bands take on occasional Thursday and Friday nights, and the tattered wood that was both charming and run-down was replaced by diamond plating and stainless steel accents. Two full bars keep the crowd watered with 30 draft selections and more than 45 beers by the bottle. Dog owners, your pooches are more than welcome here -- in fact, you'll often spot owner Chris Perry's mastiff hanging out with the regulars.
