Keep a close eye on your crew -- it's easy to get lost in this enormous tri-level River North rock bar and music venue from the Eat Well. Drink Better. group. Old-fashioned wallpaper, black lacquered banisters and tufted leather booths lend a retro-gothic vibe -- a bit like tri-level sibling spot English just down the block, only so much bigger. Shoot pool or order up comfort food classics on the first and second floors, or watch a concert on the top floor, outfitted with a stage and room for 450. The focus is on indie rock/alternative music, with local bands on the weekends and at least one national act per month.
Cocktails lean toward the classic side, ranging from the mint julep and Tom Collins to the trusty Boilermaker. Sliders get gussied up in the form of lobster salad on a mini-roll, a mini Chicago-style hot dog and a teeny grilled peanut butter-and-banana sandwich.
