My boyfriend and I live near Fuego and love Mexican food. We have tried this place at least 10 times- we really wanted to like it. The atmosphere is amazing, but the food is terrible. I have tried everything from enchiladas to steak to salads never once have I liked it. I had the worst taco I have ever had when we ordered take-out from Fuego about a month ago. We have given this restaurant enough tries; we will not be back.

I was very disappointed in my experience at Fuego. This restaurant has been around for the last handful of years, but it runs in a confused, disorganized manner like it just opened and the staff is new. Their salsa, guac, and chips are great. The food is average, but the service is very poor. I received one glass of water with no refills and I was in the restaurant for a total of 3 HOURS! When we gave credit cards to pay our group bill, the waitress came back 20 minutes later to say that they could not run 7 credit cards on their system, but they could run 6. So we had her run 6, and 40 MINUTES later our receipts came back. The waitress apologized and said that the manager would come and speak to us. He gave some lame story about their system not being able to handle the transaction and claimed he had to go in the back to fix the system. We're all going home to check our online statements because we don't trust them with our credit card information now. I was astounded by their poor customer service, and their lack of taking responsibility. He said that our waitress was just trying to be nice, but if they would of told us the the system couldn't handle it from the get go, we could just have taking a quick walk across the street to an ATM and saved ourselves a lot of TIME. Unfortunately for Fuego, this restaurant is surrounded by many other professional, well serviced restaurants, and that is where I'll be going. If Denny's can handle mutliple credit cards, I think Fuego should be able to as well.

Food and service were horrible! Not close to being an "Authentic Mexican Cusine" resteraunt! A real mexican cusine isn't served with dry black beans or poblano potatoes. Chips were old and the tortillas were heated up in a microwave. Overall bad extremely bad service and horrible food! Two thumbs down!

Walking into Fuego is like walking in to a hometown Fiesta! I have dined there on many occasions and almost every night there is a packed house. Before entering, you are lured in by the lively music that plays out on to the street and once your're inside the fun doesn't stop. Most times, there is a wait but it is nothing that one of their homemade margaritas from the bar can't fix. Adorning the beautifully decorated walls and bar can also prove useful when waiting for your table.
Tableside guacamole carts allow you to customize your own dip and server-shaken margarita's add a personalized touch to the dining experience. Our entrees have consistently been some of the best mexican food I have ever tasted. You can taste the freshness of the ingredients immediately. The overall experience of Fuego is one of a kind. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that wants to go out for a dinner that is different from the norm. Take it all in, you will not be disappointed!!

This place was so loud on a Wednesday that we couldn't have a conversation at our table. The Mariachi Band stood right behind our table playing for 40 minutes. Do you really need a band in a room that is so loud anyways? Poblano Mole chicken was bland. Was the worst mole I have ever had and supposedly a signature dish. I have no idea why this place is so popular other than the location. I will not be back. There are too many authentic Mexican restaurants around to waste time with this one.

I have dined here two times & both occasions were outstanding! For the reviews from previous customers who complained about waiting for 1-2 hours, thats your choice. That shouldn't have anything to do with the service & food, you made the desicion to accept waiting for so long then you should't complain. I've tried to eat there over 5x & it's always a long wait on a Fri & Sat night. If the wait is over 40 minutes I then go elsewere. If you waited for 2 hours, then you made a mistake.

We came in and were seated quickly on a busy Friday. We used something called a "reservation," something that some of these reviewers apparently haven't heard about. Parking was not a problem either for any of us in our party. The GOOD - ambiance was excellent with beautiful decor and festive atmosphere. I loved the huge sombrero coming out of the wall by the bar and loved the detail in the bathroom too with a hand painted sink. The service was good as our waitress was knowledgeable and very fast. The tableside fresh guacomole was awesome too. The BAD - most beers we ordered were on the warm side, not very refreshing when you're eating spicy dishes. As far as food, my food arrived hot and looked great. I ordered a special seafood dish, whitefish with shrimp and octopus, I forgot the name of the sauce it came with, and side of garlic mashed potatoes. I was excited to dig in, but as I was eating it felt like I was eating a full container of salt with my meal. I mean it was so salty, I had to stop and drink some lukewarm beer every 5 seconds. It was tough. And the mashed potates were so garlicky, I had to eat some more salty fish just to take a break. And I love garlic, so that's saying something.
For the price, this food didn't cut it. I was not the only one disappointed in their food.
Overall, great atmosphere, good service, great guac, subpar food.
I guess I'd go back for drinks and appetizers, but would arm myself with two pitchers of ice water before I eat my meal.

If you enjoy waiting over 2 hours for a table and like to feel people and wait staff bumping you as you stand by the bar that won't serve you any Margarita other than the basic ones, enjoy ( not ).
This rates as one of our worst overall dining experiences ever. The food was OK but in no way worth the 2+ hour wait. Had to give it 2 stars because we were too full of drinks and chips from the long wait that anything served would have tasted mediocre. We should have read the earlier review on the 2 hour wait, we were told this was an exception when we asked. Will not return

When you can get into the restaurant, it is worthwhile. From the chips and salsa to the lime suckers they bring with the check (which my two year-old loves!) the entire experience is creative and tasty. Particularly creative and interesting is the chef's mole of the week, which brings fresh seasonal ingredients together with and traditional mexican cooking techniques. As an example, the recent butternut squash mole combined the bright flavor of the squash combined with the rich depth of a traditional mole negra. It was wonderful on the organic farm-raised pork chops. The pricing of the menu is also appropriate for the portion size and the full and unique flavors.
The service is hit-and-miss. Some of the servers are excellent -- attentive, helpful and willing to offer their expertise upon request. Some are substantially below average. The most frustrating aspect, however, is the inability to get a table. There is often an hour and a half wait ON A TUESDAY NIGHT! The hosts/hostesses are indifferent even when there are open tables on the floor and there isn't really any place to wait. The bar area is very small and there is barely any sidewalk outside.
On balance, if you can get and if you can get a good server your experience will be outstanding. It's the abundance of "ifs" that makes this place average.

They do not accept reservations for parties of four so therefore we waited over two hours for average tasting mexican food. I would have been happier visiting my local mexican "El Taco Patio" which only accepts cash. Better luck next time I guess.
