I was foolish enough to patronize this place on more then one occasion. Everytime I went I was forced to order a magnitude of different drinks because they failed to stock even simple liquor products. NO Kettle one, NO Grey Goose, NO Absolute, NO RedBull, NO Cap't Morgan. I was annoyed, but being a bar owner myself, I knew not to get mad at the bartenders. This is clearly a problem with the GM or owner.
The staff all seemed friendly and for the most part competent. I will say that our bartender ( who's name I cannot remember) was the only pleseant part of my experience. Spikey haired and friendly-clearly was underemployed. I would have hired him at my bar in an instant, if I could remember his name :(
Its no real surprise that Double Vision tanked, Incompetent upper management is always a sure key to failure!
I live in bloomingdale and had been a couple times before.. but it was always sooo slow.. i recently got flyered that there was some kind of new thing going on there on saturdays so i went .. granted with low expectations.. but none the less it was cold i didnt want to go far and i figured i'd give it another shot.. i came and although the one room had been rented out.. i found a nice crowd (much to my surprise) in their martini lounge.. i stayed all night met some new people including their new saturday night promoter (hottie), danced to some good music and had a blast! SOOOO glad they are doing well because the place is sooo gorgeous inside.. but before with noone to have a good time with it made it hard to wanna go.. now i will be back every saturday!! (hard to beat 3$ martini's on a saturday)
Report This ReviewRead the reviews before I checked this place out. Everybody in our group was just awe struck to see this place. The layout is 3 BARS. Something for everyone. Disco music in a piano bar, can't even say how many TV's in the sports bar (LOTS), and a band and DJ in another bar. This place is a must see it, to beleive it. Thanks Double Vision, had a great time! Wayne
Report This ReviewLove all of the sports on TV, pool tables, place to dance, martini bar--there's no reason not to go!
Report This ReviewI've read the other reviews and they're pretty accurate. The sound in Philthy McNasty's (band bar) is incredible and with the three tier seating, there isn't a bad view in the house. The Press Box (sports bar) has the most actual bar seating than any place I've ever been or heard of. Tons and tons of TV's make it a great place to see any sporting event. Lefty's Lounge is very cool. Leather chairs and sofas by the fire place are a nice touch and the music in there is a nice change of pace. I had a conversation with the guy in charge of sponsorships, games and leauges and what not. Anyway, he said they were planning on starting up a bags or cornhole league, which sounds cool and they're hoping for some cool contests like Golden Tee and Guitar Hero. It sounds like they have lots of plans to keep people coming in, as if the current set-up isn't enough. Either way, as a customer, I appreciate it. Anyone in the burbs should check this place out.
Report This ReviewHere is the deal..... This bar is very nice and was worth the wait..... Only issues are
1. they get so busy that it takes a bit to get servered drinks
2. the Bouncers need to be changed The guy at the entrance turned my friend away cause she only had a ticket on her for identification. and their were 2 bouncers that wouldn't leave me alone all night. They kept hitting on me. The club is nice .. very nice.... I would give it time to let them figure out staffing issues. I can understand the ticket with my girlfriend. but not the bouncers actions
Report This ReviewThe one thing I like about this place is the options i have when i get here. I can stay in the sports bar and watch games. If I meet a nice girl and want to take the conversation to the next level i can in Lefty's Lounge. Lefty's Lounge is a casual setting with live DJ and the lights are dimmed and its relaxing.
The night club was packed on Friday. IT was a small cover charge to get in but it was work it just the same. ITs huge. 2 dance floors.
I will become a regular at this place. It is basically 3 bars in one setting. I like that choice. You really have to experience it to understand it
