At first I was very concerned with going to this restaurant with all the reviews saying the food was cold, or service was slow, but all I can say is wow I'm glad I didnt listen to any of those people. The food and the service was great! Since it was my first time there I asked our Mike our waiter to suggest something for us, he said that you cant go wrong with a burger. He was right. He was very helpful by walking us thru their huge selection of choices and he was honest by telling us that some items might not go with other items. It was a little pricy, but well worth it. I will be back hungry for more!
Report This ReviewI have been to this restaurant on 3 separate occasions and still would like to know where the alcohol is in cocktails. For the amount of money they charge for cocktails, you definitely aren't getting your money's worth. On the last occasion I was there, I decided to order a glass of wine so I didn't have to wonder where the alcohol was. I ordered a $10 glass of wine and the huge wine glass was only one-quarter full. The wine was very good but I still don't think that I got my money's worth. They do have a nice variety on the menu but the service leaves a lot to be desired.
Report This ReviewThis restaurant was an Amazing surprise. Very hip and city like. Loved the feeling for the suburbs. GREAT Burgers! Fabulous sweet potatoe fries. The wine list was extensive.
Would make the trip from Barrington anytime.
First time I was there, tho I live in Geneva. My son wanted to go for his birthday lunch. We went on July 6th (Sunday), so we didn't expect it to be busy, but it was really dead! The entrees we were interested in only came with the house salad or spring greens with a balsamaic vinegar dressing. Delicious, but...I got the 1/3# burger, my son the 2/3# burger, my daughter got a chicken breast, two sodas and two beers. Fries are ala carte for $4.95. They were okay, I guessing ore-ida made them. The tab was $54! Service was great, food delicious, place is beautiful. This is definitely only a special occasion place, which is only going to hurt them with so many of those around this area. Lower the prices, serve fries AND salad at those prices! Or a veggie or..something! Too many other much cheaper food just as good places to go in the tri-cities. Hope you can stay in business!
Report This ReviewWent to Urban Grille last night and found it to be sort of boring, both in terms of the food and decor. The menu does have a large variety of food. That said, the burger choices took up half of the menu, so my husband and I decided to order burgers - we figured since they were featured so prominently, they must be great. Mine had swiss and gruyere cheese and sauteed mushrooms. However, the burger had virtually no taste and was dry - I had to add ketchup to it to make it taste just ok. My husbands had blue cheese, onions and mushrooms. He said it was ok but all you could really taste was the blue cheese. It seemed that there was no seasoning whatsoever on the burgers. The fries we ordered as a side to go with the burgers were so-so. Also, the decor is very modern, but not warm or welcoming. Personally, for a good burger, I'd rather go to Red Robin - the burgers are a hundred times better and the prices are far less.
Report This ReviewUrban Grill has GREAT food. We have enjoyed every meal. My favorite are the salmon burgers. Staff is wonderful & fast. We have told all our friends!
Report This ReviewOur waitress suggested the manager look at the plate of inedible fat and gristle from an overpriced steak sandwich. The waste constituted half the sandwich's meat and was left uneaten on the plate.
Summoned by the waitress, the manager approached us defensively with arms crossed. His tone was disagreeable and confrontational. His explanations took us aback:
He said the meat was the highest quality.
He said it should be expected that half a steak sandwich would contain gristle and fat.
He said that he would not "do anything for us."
His tone remained adversarial even though we explained that we were not "asking him to do anything for us," (i.e., remove the cost of the fatty sandwich from the bill); rather, we were simply asking him to look at the amount of fat and gristle--at the suggestion of the waitress.
There was nothing dazzling about our other four entrees, and we felt the food was otherwise overpriced. For these reasons, but especially because of the manager, we will not return to the Urban Grille.
Report This ReviewThe food was superb, I went there with my family for mothers day and it was great. The prices were a little expensive but it was well worth it. I dine out regulary and it was nice to have some variation in a burger menu. You can choose your from several different meats, buns, cheese toppings and sauces. I don't think it could ever get old. Great job Urban Grille. I will definetley be back..
Report This ReviewUrban Grill's ability or desire to meet the needs of food-allergic customers leaves much to be desired. My girlfriend has a number of food allergies, including a severe aversion to gluten. She made this expressly clear to the waiter when we were seated. He explained that it would not be a problem at all. Our meals arrived, and things seemed fine. Unfortunately, about half-way through her salad, she discovered a piece of pasta in the mix, an ingredient which the waiter had understood was a clear no-no. We explained this to the manager, who listened politely but offered no attempt of resolution and barely acknowledged the problem. Presumably, the manager mentioned it to the kitchen staff, but there was no effort to replace the meal, nor did she really seem to understand the ramifications of their mistake. There is NO WAY we will ever return, and if you or someone in your party has specific dietary needs, I would strongly encourage you to look elsewhere. Geneva has plenty of other restaurant options that actually will meet our needs and make sure that our meals arrive as ordered.
Report This ReviewI would give it no stars but metromix doesnt allow me to do that. The food took way too long... It is was to expensive for the service and the food... Service was horrible and if you complain the manager wont even come to apologize what kind of service is that
