Urban Grille
- 524 W. State St.
- Geneva, IL 60134
- 630-262-0100
- Price range: $$$ ($16-$25)
This casual-upscale corner eatery boasts enough urban flair to live up to its name -- but enough suburban cred (owners Bob and Jeanette DiPasquantonio are Geneva residents) to fit in with its neighbors. The lunch menu is a cut above your typical neighborhood cafe, with grilled sandwiches, salads and wood-grilled pizza, plus a create-your-own artisanal burger section. Dinner time adds half a dozen daily entree choices, such as grilled grouper, prime flank steak and mahi mahi filet, served with accompaniments like cous cous and grilled veggies. A sizable patio out front, bordered with a fountain wall and populated with stainless steel tables, will remain a main attraction during amicable weather; inside, a pendant light-lined bar, open kitchen and wine cellar will catch your eye. There's also a banquet room hidden downstairs, seating 125.
