Union Park

With its bright-lights marquee and affordable menu, Union Park attracts a crowd of young professionals looking for a much-needed place to kick back amidst the West Loop scene (which used to be called Union Park). Billing itself as an upscale sports lounge, this bar-restaurant comes from the group behind Grand Central, Bar Celona and SoPo. The decor's a throwback to old-school Chicago with its classic white-tiled columns, marble bar and Tiffany-esque light fixtures, but the 15 plasma screen TVs bring you back to the present. The martini list offers classic choices and the Union Blue (Skyy citrus, blue curacau and citrus juices) for a mere $6, and bottled and draft beers run $3-$4. You can also grab some sangria by the glass or pitcher. Looking for a late-night nosh? A full menu's available 'til midnight, but you can order lighter fare 'til close. Choose from a selection of paninis or bar food with a flair, such as zucchini corn quesadillas, spinach portabella artichoke dip or park ribs.
