This two-story tavern one block north of Wrigley Field caters to people who are tired of the sports bars that have naturally flooded the area. Large-scale art pieces compliment this upscale neighborhood hangout that's all about a good cold beer--15 in bottles and 12 on tap--and some good conversation. "We don't discourage Cub fans though; we open two hours before home games," says co-owner Jason Akemann.
The first floor has a 45-foot wooden bar with plenty of stools and cozy booth seats. The upstairs is more of a lounge--a little darker and slightly different music--but is only open limited hours or for private parties (booking about a month in advance.) Catch the highly-rated poetry slam upstairs from 10 p.m.-2 a.m. on Tuesday.
