Just Ok

The food at Tilli's is okay. The atmosphere is very loud, so it's best for a group dinner. Boston Blackies is a better option for quiet conversation. Nice outdoor patio.

1st time experience :-(

Today was the first time eating at Tilli's. It was not a great experience. I was expecting more from this restaurant. My food was just Ok, the grilled chicken sandwich was very dry and had little to no seasoning. Also, the waiter was awful. He had an attitide and was rushing and snappy at the same time. I would NOT recommend anyone to go there. There are too many other GREAT RESTAURANTS around town. Try going to Boston Blackies which is great. And, it is located right next to Tillis :-)

been here several times for dinner, which has always been fine. just went for lunch (saturday). the baked french onion soup was awful. was swimming with mustard seeds and tasted like the base of the soup was made with sugar. horribly sweet.

thai bbq wings were overcooked and dry. the thai bbq sauce was very salty and didn't taste good at all.

coffee was always served cold, even the refills.

tried to tell waiter but he never reappeared except to bring us the check. was going to complain then but he ran away before we could. disappointing.

I went on a Friday night and the hostesses were very snotty, immature (huddled together and snickering about customers) and rude. I joined my group and it turned out they had treated everyone of us that way. Our waitress was nice, but had no idea what was going on. She asked us if we'd like to see dessert menus and we hadn't gotten our entrees yet. The chicken in my pasta was borderline inedible. Really a shame for a place with such a cool atmosphere and location.

I live right up the street from Tilis and am there often. There wine specials are great and never had a bad meal. Never had to wait to be seated and am always greeted with a smile. The service has always been outstanding and a few of them not too bad to look at. I have been to nearly half the restaurants in Chicago because of my profession and while this isn't a Gibson's you get more then what you pay for. Great food, great place, great restaurant!

It's a great place to hang out meet up with friends grab a drink and maybe dinner if your hungry! Most who go to Tilli's knows the food is OK! Judging by the price of the food you should know that it's going to be reasonable and good! For all you out there expecting so much more! Then you should take your snotty behind around the corner to Charlie Trotters and play $300per person and tell me if it was worth it!

Soooo average! The place has a great feel, but the food was no better than I could have made at home in 15 minutes. I don't see myself going back, especially when there are so many other great options in the neighborhood.

I was there on a first date and it was really very nice. We were seated by the fireplace and it was crowded but there was enough space between tables so you couldn't hear other conversations. The Thai Salmon with spicey green beans was surprisingly excellent, & the standard appetizer we ordered was good but nothing spectacular. Our water glasses were kept filled, & so was our bread stick basket. I would definitely go back.

Went on a Friday night. The service and prices were average(almost cheap for LP). But you get what you pay for. We had calamari appetizer which had this super-salty sauce. The tuna niciose salad was blah and the tuna was not good. The thai beef salad again suffered from over salting. Good place to drink. Bad place to eat. The breadsticks were good.

Went for dinner with four friends, great food, loved the fireplace. We ended up staying late at the bar because of all the good looking guys and drinks!
