Awesome!!!! Dope Club!!!!

I went to the UG for the first time in July '09, a Friday night, around 1:30. The line was SLAMMED but I got inside real quick ;). I had never even been to a nightclub before and walking down the stairs the music was poppin so loud that it was shaking my chest. The overall scene was crazy! I had a great time dancing it up (lost control when they played some MJ) thanks to a great dj, awesome sound system. The staff were super friendly. Drinks were great (crazy watermelon shot or something dunno but it was TastY yum). Mini Kobe burgers were amazing for that late night hunger! All in all, I had an amazing night, would recommend it to anybody and would most definately go back.

We went there this past weekend for a friend's Bachelorette party. It was a great time, the music was good with a good mix of new and old school. Everybody that worked their was really friendly, we had a reserved table which I really recommend otherwise you have to stand around and it's not really a big place. The dance floor wasn't the biggestl but you can dance up on the counters...would go back!

What a joke! I'd never been there, and actually was excited to go. Thank god I didn't pay a cover to get in. Outside was a mob of people (mostly guys) trying to get in. Inside was about a million girls and NO guys. Great for guys right? BAD for girls. And the music was HORRIBLE. Since when do "cutting edge clubs" play crap from the eighties? I get that its May, and its bachelorette season. But if that's what those girls are looking for they can go find it at any crap establishment - leave it out of the clubs! I couldn't tell you how much drinks are because I didn't think this place was worth spending even a penny on. "Come on Eileen" came on and I was out of there. Did I mention is incredibly small too?? Huge disappointment - I'd rather go to Rockit!

Service is bad, bouncers outside are a joke, don't waste your time trying to get in, and if you are on the list that does not matter either, The drinks are over priced, I love that they say oh you can take the red line to get to the place, but in all reality if you are taking that kind of transportation I am sure you are unable to pay for a drink at the Underground.

Everyone at this place is waaaay too cool and important. It's full of Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies. Bouncers are rude. While I was standing in line they turned away an employee of their sister bar Rockit! Who does that?! Overrated and gets really crowded.

However, lots of hot girls and servers. Lots of "really important" guys standing around "texting/playing snake" on their phone. Cool decor and a really good sound system. Pretentious.

Overall C-. I understand that a little "attitude" is cool, but don't be lame. Keep an eye out for anyone who literally glows orange and radiates heat.

This is one of the very FEW of the clubs in downtown chicago that has a staff with some personality and spunk. I don't knoe what it is, but a lot of industry girls think that their bodies will make up for their snobbiness. I was so apprehensive about going for my first time b/c I had heard about some of these reviews...turns out the staff (esp. the bartenders) are as geeky (in a good way) and NON-PRETENTIOUS as they come. One of the girls (blonde tall one) even gave us some complimentary snacks when she overheard me and my friends talking about how hungry we were! We had a great time--will be back soon!

empty-minded staff and girls...i was asked to leave the club after dropping 2 thousand dollars on bottles because I did not tip the server, since the service was awful, and my best friends was not let inside because they "didn't bring girls with them"...
maybe I am wrong, but I think the "customer is always right"

From the moment you walk ijn you feel the undercurrent vube of this place. The music and energy excite the guests who come. If you don't want to enjoy music and you don't like to dance...I'm sorry to say you shouldn't be here. But- a party is what you make of it too...

Rude wait staff - lazy and over-inflated egos

I planned for my best friend's bachelorette party to end up here when we went out. There were 8 of us so we decided to buy a bottle in order to get a table where we could all put our purses and coats down. The waitress was clearly not excited to be waiting on a table of 8 girls - she told us to go to the bar to order our drinks when the bottle ran out, then she only checked on us once in the next two hours.

The hilarious ending to the evening was when she complained to the VIP hostess that we weren't ordering drinks anymore (you'll recall, she sent us to the bar for our drinks). The VIP hostess actually listened to her and kicked us out of our table so they could fill it with some newcomers. Unbelievable. In addition, the bottle was $120 more than the website said it would be.

There's nothing worse than a lazy waitress who basically tells you to serve yourself, and who works for a hostess that actually supports her behavior. The evening was a total rip - we spent over $500 and not only were we not thanked for our business, we were booted from our table.

Save your money and spend it somewhere it will actually be appreciated. This place's wait staff thinks they're cooler than everyone partying there which isn't very awesome.

I have to say, I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Partying downtown...i am a total club hopper head. My current fav places to go are Enclave and NV Penthouse. I have to say I was COMPLETELY disappointed with this place. And to the people who commented from 2007, stop being snobby superficial rude people and realize that money and looks don't buy you a personality. I got straight in on a friday night with my group of girls and we were excited to be checking this place out. It was totally crap. First off we had two friends show up about an hour later and because one of them wasn't "dressed to impress" according to the bouncer they had to wait in a line. I'm sorry but since when does the newest dolce and gabbana mini not count as impressive. Apparently to the knock off designer wearing bouncer it's not. Anyways they finally got in and then the waitstaff and bartenders continually ignored us. One girl with long blonde hair at the bar flirted with a guy standing next to us for SERIOUSLY 10 minutes and he never even bought a drink. This place was just SERIOUSLY annoying. I'd rather go to a classy club like enclave with my friends and be treated with RESPECT. NEEDLESS TO SAY...my friends and I will never come back and we will HELP YOU keep underground a secret!
