The Long Room

I went to Long Room last night to listen to a band playing there and loved it. The drinks are great and well priced, and the atmosphere is fantastic. I'll go back for sure!
Report This ReviewMy friends casually mentioned the long room about a year ago. I'd never heard of it, but I'm so glad they took me. One of the best bars in Chicago. Staff is always friendly, fun, and accomodating. On many afternoons, they've opened early for our work crew (almost an hour early, actually). The combination of beer selection and price is the best I've found in the city. Think about a reader's digest version of the hopleaf without the ever-present hopleaf attitude. It can't hold up to the amazing beer variety of hopleaf, but it's an awesome, awesome place. Make sure to get in here at least once. You'll be back.
Report This ReviewNot only is the bar great but every Sunday Nicholas Barron and his band play and they know music and how to have a good time! What a bunch of cuties!
Report This ReviewThis place continues to be my favorite watering hole. With the addition of their beer garden...yes! beer garden! makes this place an excellent spot for conversation with friends or meeting new for ones.
Report This ReviewAs a devoted supporter of The Long Room since it opened several years ago, I can assure you that when you visit this bar you will discover 1) friendly bartenders, 2) good music, 3) no televisions, 4) no Golden Tee, and 5) a hearty variety of libations to enjoy in a dark and comfortable atmosphere. I used to live close enough to stop in several times a week, but even after moving I still make the effort to visit as much as possible. The owners, Clark and Jason, are knowledgeable, friendly, and make an effort to remember their customers. The bartenders are wonderful people, and the addition of Mimi's sandwiches and an outdoor patio makes an already great bar even better. Needless to say, I would suggest stopping in for a drink or two.
Report This ReviewIn a city full of cheap, third-rate "bars" which cater to the drunk, post-Big Ten crowd, the Long Room is an oasis of calm, adult refinement. Extremely cordial, knowledgeable bartenders; jazz on the stereo (early in the evening); comfortable, attractive surroundings; and out of this world cocktials. Martinis, Manhattans and Cosmopolitans like God would make them and very reasonably priced, eclectic beer and wine. When you get tired of the Lincoln Park/ Lakeview scene, come to this place and see what adults do when they want to relax.
