The Ashland

The owners of Grand River have taken over the Ashland and plan to keep it open through the end of the year before closing to renovate and relaunch with a new name by March 2010.
New management took over Ashland in May 2008, scrapping food service all together to put more focus on booze and entertainment. That means you'll find 15 beers on tap and plenty of video games, including Rockband, Wii and Guitar Hero--and even Atari and pinball for gamers with a taste for the retro. The cream and brown walls have also been replaced with brighter oranges and blues. Despite the Bears-like color scheme, you won't find much sports here. The TVs are more likely to show Comedy Central, movies or the news with the volume turned down to a conversation-friendly level.
