The 44th Ward Dinner Party (a.k.a "The Ward") is a grilled cheese-focused eatery with late-night hours and music curated by DJ White Shadow Paul Blair. A handful of guys from Angels & Kings are behind the concept, including LBC owner Stephen Westman partnering with Nicholas Scimeca and Jason Merz. , thanks to the design help of Matt Eisler and Kevin Heisner (Bar DeVille, Empire Liquors).
Westman isn't fond of the "restolounge" concept, where you're forced to eat tiny portions while manuveuring on couches and wooden blocks, so expect real tables at which to eat comfortably, plus a long counter stocked with a dozen barstools. On the menu, you'll find more than a half-dozen varieties of grilled cheese sandwiches, including the Belmont Harbor with bacon, cheddar and apple slices, or the 60657, a meat-free version with veggie bacon, soy cheese and vegannaise. DIY-ers can zero in on the create-your-own option, which offers 10 bread types, 10 cheeses, four spreads and more than a dozen extras, from avocado to roasted red peppers. After midnight on Friday and Saturdays, score the classic version (Wonder bread and American cheese) for just $1. Wash 'em down with one of half a dozen bottled beers or fun signature cocktails.

I went last Wednesday night with a few friends and we had a great time. $3 specials on long island iced teas. I got the basique which was delicious...
