Depending on the day of the week, expect everything from a live jazz band to lesbian night at this Bronzeville bar. General manager Melondy West used to work at hip-hop focused spot Boutique, but don't mistake Swagger for a club -- it's going for a more laid-back lounge vibe. Curvy banquette seating, glowing cube-shaped tables and funky lighting fixtures give the space plenty of personality. Behind the bar you'll find a basic selection of bottled beer, wine and bartenders offering their own signature cocktails.
Though themed nights are subject to change, the plan for now is live jazz followed by a DJ spinning jazz tunes on Monday, while hip hop will rule the speakers on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Tuesday is gentlemen's night, complete with go-go dancers and relaxing treatments such as hand massages to spoil guests rotten. Friday is house music night, while Saturdays cater to the ladies with themed lesbian nights promoted by Tatiana Jaye. The week rounds out with reggae night on Sunday.
