This new bar near AMC Cantera movie theater will offer movie-goers a post-show landing pad that's a touch more sophisticated than, say, nearby Buffalo Wild Wings or Rock Bottom. It opened its doors in soft-opening mode March 6. High-top tables and a long back-lit bar contribute to the chic surrounds, and live music -- from dueling pianos to jazz bands -- will be a staple on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday nights. Behind the bar, 40-plus vodkas and a range of whiskeys will lure serious sippers. Expect six beers on tap and a dozen more by the bottle, plus 14 wines by the glass and a martini menu in the works. When a bar brings in both a chef and a pastry chef, it's a good indication the food's a focus, too. The appetizer-heavy contemporary American menu (provided for Spats by Livorno's next door) also features salads, pasta, steaks, soups and sandwiches.
