The owners of Moda paired with the team behind John Barleycorn to relaunch the space as sports den Social Twenty-Five. So what's this spot have that other recent entries in the River North sports lounge category -- Bull & Bear, Theory and District, to name a few -- don't have? A late-night license, that's what.
Upstairs, sleek wood paneling runs across the walls, black leather covers the booths and geometric shelves house bottles of wine behind the bar. Downstairs, the lower ceilings, dim lighting and slim banquettes lend a loungier vibe. An American menu provided by neighbor Dirty Martini ranges from mini-burgers to thin-crust pizza. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, bands take the stage on the first floor.
