Relax Lounge
1450 W. Chicago Ave. - Chicago312-666-6006
This Chicago native and "Top Chef" is just one sparkling facet on this West Town gem of a lounge. The decor is cool, without being over-contrived. The beer/wine/cocktail list offers quality over quantity ( any respectable cucumber lover must indulge in a "Calientini" ). The music was great, and it wasn't even a DJ's night ( will have to go back for that ). And, as I was anticipating, Dale's talents in the kitchen are indeed decadent, well balanced, and creative. Bacon Salad? You can't imagine how delicious that was!
Report This ReviewWent to check it out and have to say the owner Dave made my roommate and myself feel very welcomed. The bartenders were attentive without being overbearing. The free poured cocktails were balanced and not weak. I haven't tried the food yet but look forward to a return visit to have a burger. I would recommend Relax to any of my friends.
Report This ReviewI held my 30th birthday party here in January on a Saturday night. David, the manager, was very accomodating and made sure that everything went smoothly. The waitress was very attentive and made sure that we were always with a drink in hand, even as the place became packed. HIghly recommended for any party or packages!
Report This ReviewMy group had a great time on New Year's Eve. The server was busy but accommodating as best as one could/should be expected on this day. They did a great job getting the table service prepped and delivering the champagne before the ball drop and then had burgers to follow. Yes! I look forward to my return.
Report This Reviewi had my bday party at relax and it was the best birthday i've had so far. server was great, atmosphere was very "relaxed", good music, plus burgers when everyone was drunk. good drink prices and easy to reserve tables...
Report This ReviewI travel all over, NY, LA, SF, London and compared to most "lounges" I've gone to, this place was one of my top three. It has a great vibe, with a nice crowd. Its busy, but not too crowded. Drinks were large and strong (and VERY reasonably priced) -- exactly what I want from a bar. For those that were confused about ordering food, all I needed to do is tell one of the HOT waitresses what I wanted and they brought it to me. This isn't the COOLEST bar in the world, but its exactly what it says it is....A great place to RELAX. Next time I'm in town, I'm coming back. Hopefully, it will be the same as I remembered.
Report This ReviewJust a so-so spot. The place looks alright but I saw no menu and no eating. Nor could I comprehend how one could eat with lack of tables. Decent drinks and beer selection. If you like the clubby lounge scene you might love this place. I was bored.
Report This ReviewThis place is a great new lounge to meet with friends and enjoy comfortable booths or the "up at the bar" scene while doing some good people watching. Good looking and approachable patrons is what my experience was. If you like In n' Out burger on the West Coast, try one of the very reasonably priced burgers! Burger reminded me of that sweet Cali cuisine a Chicagoan only wishes was spread across the midwest. Now it's here people... go get you some.
Report This ReviewNothing new and the crowd was not exactly good lucking... will not go back
Report This ReviewThis place rocks. Cool decor, the kind of place you would expect to see in LA or SF. The only thing in this place that is cheesey are the burgers, which are quite tasty. This bar is a great addition to the neighborhood.
