The sangria flows freely at this West Loop lounge, which eases into the evening with global downtempo tunes and amps up the energy after 10 p.m. Leather sofas fill the lounge area in front, while back-lit onyx-hued panels along the back wall cast a warm glow over a square-shaped bar.
Order pitchers of homemade red or white sangria and keep an eye out for a seasonally changing specialty, such as cider-spiked sangria for the winter months. Wines (all available by the glass) hail from around the world, as do a round-up of 25 or so bottled beers. The lounge is named after the Greek word for appetizers, but the flavors on the menu stray far from the Mediterranean. Small plates meant for sharing range from Caribbean-inspired ceviche and vegetarian Thai rolls to crab spanokopita and chipotle-spiced patatas bravas.
