Martini Park

I have gone twice in the past month and both times i waited over 15 minutes for the server to take my fiirst drink order. The martinis are very weak and not worth the $10.00 charge, I had 5 pomengranite martini's and barely caught a buzz. But to top it off, the server tried to charge two drinks that I didnt order on my charge card, if it wasnt for my guest checking over the bill, I would have paid an extra 20.00 that night, Always, always check your bill here.
Report This ReviewHad an incredibly fun time. The band was awesome, waitstaff good and the decor is chic. We had a mix of ages from 23 - 34 in our group and we all enjoyed it. They have a fairly decent food menu too. The best part of the place is that you can actually communicate with your friends without screaming....music is kept to a good level. We will definitely go back....good choice.
Report This ReviewI thought the setup of this place was really great. The service was decent, but not pretentious. The crowd is definitely a little older and touristy. There were also at least 3 bachelorette parties there -- just an observation.
The band was great, and I loved how they had live music. They also have a great drink menu. The only annoying thing was that the entire place is "open seating" -- which means we had to stand around for 45 minutes, then force our way onto a table that was leaving. When we first got there and tried to sit at the few empty tables, they were "reserved' for people who were "eating" -- and yet when I tried to reserve a table with the hostess at the front, she said she couldn't cuz the whole place was open seating. In other words, very obnoxious to get a table in this place -- try calling ahead.
Report This ReviewI went here for the 1st time and honestly it is the best time I have had in a long time. Great group of people, drinks are a little overpriced, great mixture of music. My friend and I had talked about that there are not enough places like this in the city. We hope to get back soon and try their food menu. This place is an older crowd so if you are younger than 30, I would not even bother.
Report This ReviewI don't know why people are giving it a bad rap...I loved it. But again, I'm older so it works for me. All you haters out there need to know that adults need to have a good time as well. So, if you're a young just starting out professional that is used to the penny pitchers, this place is not for you. But if you can't afford $5 martinis specials, then you need to get another job. I loved it and I'm in my 30's so...I've been to the college bar and I'm tired of it. I deserve a classy upscale bar. In fact, Chicago needs it too. I like the pubs, but there are too many of them in Chicago. The strawberry martini was excellent.
Report This ReviewIf you want to watch Bartenders hit on girls, then this is the place to go. Ours was too interested in checking out the clientele.
The wait staff was snooty and drinks were overpriced. Definitely suburban cougarville.
Report This ReviewIf getting hit on by a variety of wasted losers who spill drinks all over you, then Martini Park may be your place. My girlfriend and I went, and we're so turned off on many levels. Not only were the drinks extremely watered-down, but the bartenders were apparently too busy flirting with customers to make drinks. I stood at the bar and was ignored until another customer told the bartender he was being rude and should wait on me. The cover band was horribly tacky, and I was surprised when the wedding-type commerical dj didn't play the "chicken dance" as his music lacked any flow. To top it off, the bartender refused to re-pour my friend's $15 drink a customer spilled on the bar right in front of her...and then they escorted my very sober, very calm friend out. Unfriendly primadonna bar staff mixes well with crowd full of losers. Don't waste your time or money.
Report This ReviewI live a block away from Martini Park and have so since the first day it opened, well I stopped by over the weekend and the place was very cool.... lots of NEW fresh faces which is a nice change and I read the other notes about it having a "mixed crowd" - well welcome to Chicago with many Cultures living here you are gonna see a "mixed crowd" - but anyway Martini Park has a good Chicago feel with Live bands, warm atmosphere with a Live attitude, good service and a good food menu - I need a new places to eat at around here so a big plus... and FYI I don't work in the industry or belong to a hot friend group but the door guy took care of me cause I understand and respect the value of a "dress code"... and one more thing to the reviews I read about "Suburb People" we all at some point moved here from the Suburbs so don't forget where you came from and stop hating on Suburb people!!!
Report This ReviewI have been to Martini Park many times. The "Girls Night Out" Wednesdays are great - they have special martinis that are delicious! Their food is also unique - the fried cookie dough wontons are amazing!
Report This ReviewI'll keep this short and no-so-sweet:
1. They charge $10 cover for guys only...didn't make my guy friends very happy, and the bouncer/person taking $$ was pretty rude.
2. Weird mix of people...some younger in 20's, but mostly older and random crowd of 30's to 40's, probably from the suburbs. Not meaning to judge, but it isn't my crowd.
3. Way overpriced---Miller Lite bottle was $6.75 which is absolutely ridiculous.
Only good thing was the DJ. Try this place if you dare, but just know it's not worth the cost or annoying crowd of people.
