We went here for a birthday party a few weeks ago. Nice decor, decent music, and good crowd. Bartenders were pretty good except for one who made the experience sour. It seems quite a few people (not only our party) were having issues with her unprofessional behavior. Needless to say, there's plenty of other places to go in this beautiful city!

My friends and I had a good time here. The only thing that pissed me off is we walked in sat at a table that DID NOT have a reserved sign on it, and yet the bouncers after about an hour told us that when the poeple who reserved the table get there we would have to get up. Overall, this place is classy and has good music. I would go again.

Don't Waste Your Time & Money

Let's figure out this equation...
20 people just left (male and female)
Bouncer says they're at their capacity for male patrons.
Right after he says that, he let's in 3 males.
When asked, how is it possible that they're at their capacity when 20 people just left, bouncer says, they left to smoke. Didn't know people hop into cabs to smoke.
Answer to equation: Lumen sucks! Bouncers are even worse.
If you're going to make up some lame excuse, at least make it a little more believable.
Oh and may I add, people that left Lumen said it was dead in there. So why make people wait in line when there isn't even anyone in there. Worst night ever, would never recommend to anyone.

Was discouraged w/ the rock crowd that Lumen used to hold, but it has done a 360!
Music mostly hip/hop mixed w/ old school house music... there was not a single person standing still... chic crowd, fashionistas... Sex in the City meets Entourage ambiance !
they better keep the same dj as this past Sat, or it will lose its edge..... finally a place less pretentious and just as good as Manor

Fashion Show at Lumen

My boyfriend and I went to Lumen on Saturday night and had a great time. There was a fashion show going on and that added to the upbeat atmosphere. After it ended it was more mellow, mainly lots of groups of friends having drinks together. Not much in the way of dancing though, more like a lounge, than a club. There is only one bar, with just 2 bartenders, so getting drinks was difficult. Lots of seating, but mainly the low couch type, with everyone standing up around you, so that could be a little awkward depending on where you are sitting. This was our second time going there, the first was on July 4th, when they had a another event there. I will go back, but only if there is special events going on. Music was more techno than hip/hop. I would have preferred hip/hop and techno mix. Overall, we had a good time, there is a good mix of people, staff is cool, and decor was interesting with the lights on the ceiling. I would go there more often if there was dancing and if the music was more hip/hop.

OK, now why would you make us wait in the COLD outside of your place of business where I want to spend some money to find out that theres hardly anyone in. The doorguy was rude, the bartend was not friendly, the music suck.....SOOOO how were we suppose to have fun???? you tell me LUMEN.

Great Ambiance

The design of this place is fantastic. Went there 12/8 with a small group. Good variety of people from all ages. Only thing I didn't like was the music. Not a hip hop person. Would go back for the right DJ. Drinks are a little pricey, but the lack of a cover charge makes up for that.

First time visiting the club this past Saturday (11/17). Small group of us met there and had a great evening! Music was slammin and our bartender Toni was FANTASTIC! I would say this is a definite choice of a great evening out! Will go back. Will bring others.

Went there mid-October, w/o reading any reviews about it... waited in line for a few minutes, but was SO worth it! Supposedly Lumen doesn't play hip/hop but that night it was playing the best HHop tracks! Not a presumptuous crowd... felt like a lounge in LA ... If mgt reads this, keep playing HipHop !!!
