The folks behind popular Mexican eatery El Tapatio have converted cross-the-street neighbor Ivan's into an intimate, sophisticated Latin lounge and restaurant. The menu features Mexican-inflected tapas including quesadillas and skewers of Dos Equis-marinated charbroiled beef. Margaritas are a mainstay--opt for the house version, or a high-end interpretation, made with premium spirits. Tequila aficionados can sip 25 varieties, served in snifters and meant for savoring, not shooting. In the early evening, expect to hear everything from mariachi music to Shakira; after 10 p.m. Latin-influenced, down-tempo grooves prevail. Deejays spin Thursday through Sunday.

I went for dinner & a few drinks to start the night on Friday. The food was excellent & the drinks were even better. Will definitely be going back.
