over-priced, but great beer garden

Every time I've come to Kirkwood on a weekend, I've found it unbelievable how the young recent grad clientele is so drunk on overpriced beer and cocktails. The beer garden redeems the bar, however. It's large with equal parts sun and shade, and comfortable seating around an outdoor bar - not to mention flat screens on the garden walls. Looking forward to spending some week night evenings here with my neighborhood friends.

Went there last weekend, and I really don't know how this place is getting all these 3 and 4 stars. The place is small compared to other great tavern and grill places. The bathrooms and bars aren't easily accessible. As far as seating, it's not that comfortable, they only have like 4 lounge chairs that are located all the way in a corner by the kitchen. I recommend one of my favorite places where it's huge, prices are reasonable with great food, more plasmas, and a chance that you will get a lounge chair (which is mostly what they have), is The Boundary on 1932 N. Divisoin. They have a nice patio which is perfect for a Friday or Saturday night when there is nice breeze outside. They have a great atmosphere and the management is NOT a joke.

Went here on saturday night late... decent place but again lacked a lot of energy! it was clean and the service was quick and good though so i cant knock it.. just was looking for something special with all the hype my friends had about it.

Great food and a lot of good TVs, but way over priced. Their deals during the work week really aren't deals, they are more like normal pricing.

This bar is favorite neighborhood bar by far and I don't even live in the neighborhood. The food is great along with the service. I like to think of it as my own "Cheers" :)

This place is your run of the mill bar in Lincoln Park with above average food. Staff is really nice except the door guys. What made my night was the insane bartenders...katie and danielle?? they were a riot all night and super cute! come for the good service and good food.

I live in the area and have to say this place rarely disappoints. Although I'm annoyed that Sheffield now resembles Lincoln Avenue on a Friday night, Kirkwood is great during the week. The burgers are not always done to specification, but can you really complain when they are 2 bucks (on Mondays)? Service is fast and friendly.

This bar is great! I went there with some friends and even though we had to wait a little while for a table in the beer garden, it was worth it! The service was great (helps that the bartenders and servers are hot too!), good food, and fun atmosphere. We'll definetly be going back.....and really looking forward to football season! Go Bears!!

We had the nicest waitress ever this past Saturday. The outside seating area is really nice. I had a Cobb salad and it was NOT good. The bacon seemed undercooked. I would def go back for drinks though.
