Horrible!!!
By Kappakaps from Wrigleyville, December 7, 2009

I have been to junior's a couple of times but its been a couple years since then so we thought we might try it again. This past saturday will be the last time we ever go there. When we first came in we sat at a table in the middle of the bar. We saw plenty of waitresses walking around but we were given no service. We finally went up to the bar to order drinks. Then we had to move to a different table because they wanted to move our table to make a "dance floor". Ok....whatever. We sat in the back part of the bar. We were there for a total of about 2.5 hours. We sat there and watched every table be served by the waitress except us. the fact that we were being ignored seemed blatant and deliberate. We ordered one round of shots ( we walked up to the bar to get them). The bartender didn't know how to make it (it was soco lime) How can you be a bartender and not know how to make basic shots?
This place was an awful disappointment. Don't waste your time!

RIP-OFF!!!!

since when are SPORTS BARS are suppose to be charging to get in, esp 20 dollars!!!!! Outragous and offensive. i remember a time when i went there and it was FREE. If u that hard up for money you should at least rename the place to a CLUB so that people would at least expect the cover charge.

$20 Entry?!?
By MotoX8402 from Jefferson Park, August 6, 2009

I wouldn't know what it is like inside because my friends and I turned around after we were frisked to enter and told it was a $20 cover. Seriously?!?! I would rather pay $20 to go to a club in the loop than this hole!

Disappointing
By cdg2009 from Little Italy/University Village, July 12, 2009

Slow to non-existent service that was rude and abrupt. The food is way overpriced for the portions and the poor quality (rotting vegetables) ingredients. The drinks are overpriced. The hostess was rude. The wait persons always were slow to arrive, even when the place was empty. We've tried this place about 5 times & have given up on the idea of it ever improving and do not plan to ever return.

Great Food & Service
By nothing clever from California/France, July 20, 2008

This place is very good. The food is very good--not just bar-food good, actually good--and the service is perfect. Adorably perfect!

Lots of TV screens, personal ones in the booths, all the staff looked genuinely happy to be working there.

Did I mention adorable wait staff?

good breakfast
By jau from west town, May 11, 2008

I love brunch and this a place to go for tasty food, quantity, and service. I ordered french toast and it was cooked to perfection. The omelet was large enought for two. I asked the waitress for a side of fruit and she came out with a half a pineapple hollowed out filled to the top with a variety of fresh fruits. We were finishing brunch and decided to stay because the blues music started...he was great! I couldn't believe the number of people waiting outside of Hashbrowns when they could walk right over to Juniors and had their delectable hashbrowns...not greasy and crunchy on top...YUM!

Junior's is definitely my game day bar. They have a lot of nice tvs and a lot of games on them. The wait staff and bartenders are attentive and attractive.

Maxwell Street Reborn! Don't miss it!
By Sheldon from UIC Grad, now on the South Side of Chicago, September 28, 2007

Overall rating:

Sure, it's not the Maxwell Street as seen in the Blues Brothers, but in 2007, maybe it's even better. At the center of it all is Junior's, a wonderful addition to the area. Great food, great music, great atmosphere and the perfect place to settle in for the evening or as a stop-off to your next desitnation. I absolutely love the blue velvet booths and the bar stools and tables near the window offer the best vantage in the whole place, for the street and the bar itself. It never gets uncomfortably crowded unless there is a big game on the many plasmas, but there is a large and diverse crowd to meet anyone's approval. Early in the day, it actually doubles as a family restaurant as I have seen kids under the age of 12 enjoying a burger and fries while the sun was still shining.

Bottom line: you must see this place. It has made the area that much better and I see it as being a great established watering hole for UIC folks and Chicagoans in general in the years to come.

Great place to watch a game (get there early for big games though fills up quick) or just to meet with some friend for a relaxing evening. service is great with attractive workers. Music could use some work sometimes, but what bars couldn't. def recommend checking this place out
