Inside: Junior's Sports Lounge
The folks behind Cans Bar and Canteen and Salud Tequila Lounge launched this University Village Marketplace spot. They've even partnered up with Chicago Bears legend Gale Sayers in this upscale sports lounge. More than 30 large flatscreen TVs hang from the ceiling and booths are decked out with individual TVs so you don't miss a play. DJs on deck provide the late-night soundtrack, or sometimes play during sporting event commercials. Nosh on upscale pub grub like five kinds of wings, southwestern-style eggrolls and a crab cake "martini," and wash it down with beer or specialty drinks, such as the alcoholic root beer float (sans root beer, sans ice cream). So why Junior's? It was the nickname of partner Jay Runnfeldt's beloved deceased pooch.
