Horrible service

Went there on a Friday afternoon with a few friends and sat at the bar to watch the game. Bartender simply looked past us most of the time and when I asked her for a few drinks she got all pissy. Unbelieveable. Must have been a bad day. Went back there on Saturday night because I read that it's sometimes pretty good here at night. Well once again it took forever to get a drink and the music wasn't that great with a bunch of people just standing around. Just a pretty lame bar for Chicago.

Awesome time there last saturday. Doorman were great!!!! The only thing I could complain about is that the female bartenders were a little rude but I will be there again this weekend.

Falls way short of its potential

Sadly HC has my favorite bar-food in the neighborhood because everything else is very disappointing; service is frustrating and interiors dismal. I have never been there for the bar experience so I can't comment on that. I give 2 stars for the food and location.

Of many visits over the years I rarely see a server provide the minimum tasks "average" service requires. Twice I reluctantly gave up waiting and crossed the street to Dublin's. The other afternoon I had to ask the bartender to bring our food after it sat in the window almost 5 minutes while the staff stood by chatting (I would have spoken up sooner but mistakenly assumed they had to be waiting for something). Unlike the servers, this bartender seemed to understand how jobs actually require you to do some work and he apologized their inattention. I expressed my repeated disappointments and he agreed with my observations, adding management is aware of the poor service but does not seem to care.

On top of the poor service, the dining area is not pleasant. Even with the smoking ban, it has that bad smell and stale air of a dive bar. I understand this is a late-night bar and all, but why is it the others can clean up and provide a decent setting for lunch/dinner and HC can't?

Normally, I would not normally return to an establishment providing such an environment; but I do really like the food and live just a block away. I learned to order take out; picking it up from the bar is usually fairly painless. Also, were there a lazy day to sit in the sun with friends and the only outside seats available were here, I would not refuse them. Though, I am a pretty patient person and all is easier to tolerate with good company.

New everything...

This bar needs a face lift...new staff and management a must for this low end bar in the notorious known "triangle". The crowd is very diverse...It changes dramatically from day to night. Great place to watch sports...poor place to have fun at night. Look out for suburban"ites" on the weekend. Been here a couple times in the years and it has gone downhill! Too bad.

Dog Friendly

Who knew?! Here in the viagra triangle where restaurant owners have in the last few years dissed the doggies, there is a patio-friendly bar that welcomes well-mannered dogs! Bloody mary on the average side, but great beer specials and great people-watching. Look right across Maple at Dublins with it's pathetically dogless patio and gloat!

If you don't get out much, come here.

I went here lastnight and I was afraid I wouldn't get in because of the way I was dressed... I was clearly dressed for a college bar/pub with flipflops but I got in with no problem the door guy wasn't rude to me. The music is terrible and they even have a 'DJ' simply press 'play' in the corner...might as well go turn on your radio in the car. The crowd is between upper 20's to 30's. Not the best place to come...there are alot better places.

This is a great place to watch sports during the week. The door guys are decent (compared to other places nearby). Some of the servers are gorgeous... Food is decent.
