3 A.M. says who? They stay open til' 3 on Sat. IN THE SUMMER when it's busy. It's amazing that ANYONE can post info no matter how WRONG it is.
Report This ReviewI've been into Happy Village many times over the last few months. It's a decent place overall but be sure to make plans for a nightcap because 4 of the 6 times I've been there most recently they've closed a minimum of an hour early. I know they say if customers are there they'll stay open but I've not experienced that. Last night there was at least 30 people there when the bar closed at 1:30 (it's a 3am Saturday bar). We walked over to Inner town and saw most of the same people who'd been kicked out of Village still drinkin' and having fun. So, great place...just know you'll most likely be asked to leave early.
Report This ReviewTotal dive bar, but I totally loved it! I went with some regulars who live around the corner and raved about the place for about an hour before I decided to go. The staff was super friendly and we knew everyone by name and they knew us by the end of the night. Loved the beer garden (Very nice) and the fact that they had ping pong tables in the back room was pretty sweet. The wallpaper back there cracked me up and reminded me of Crimson Lounge or something. I'm usually about the high class joints, but I really liked the warm welcome I got when I was here.
Report This ReviewSo...my friends and I have been here before and had a good time. Thi is totally the place that if you are not a regular and they don't know your name, they won't let you start a tab, and they look at you like, "can you please move your coat so Holly can sit there?". For real, that happened! We thought we were having a good time, playing the video games joking with the other patrons, and tipping good cash, playing Catch Phrase and hanging out with the other 6 regulars that were drinking beer, until the old dude bartender made arrogant jokes that he didn't know us, and thought we were from Lincoln Park...when we live around the corner! Point being..they were cool....then, they were asses, like that! .....we'll never go back! The bad attitudes ruined it! Boo!
Report This ReviewA quirky dive bar squirreled away off the main street. Not a destination but worth while to visit if you're in the neighborhood. Sort of place where you drink PBRs while hipsters play ping pong in the back room. The beer garden in the back is most comfortable.
Report This ReviewI love Happy Village! The perfect place for a mid-week drink. Drinks are cheap, the beer garden feels like someone's backyard, and there is ping-pong. If you live in east village, this is a great place to start the night.

Report This ReviewI love this place. The beer garden is my favorite oasis in the city. The staff and prices rock- and the jazz group is great.
Report This ReviewWhat a gem! I am surprized there are actual reviews for this place. You walk by it a dozen times and never know the value that lies behind it's door and it's prices. For the true Chicagoan.
Report This ReviewGreat place for hillbilly music and fun!! Not to many of these original corner taverns left in the city anymore.
