Fulton Lounge
955 W. Fulton Market - Chicago312-942-9500
We went to Fultonlounge this last Saturday and had an awesome time. It was girls night out and we were greeted by two of the most beauitiful bouncer guys in Chicago we ordered some great drinks at the bar and were able to get seated outside right away our server was very attentive and she kept the drinks coming all night. All my girlfriends loved it and we ended up closing the place down. Thanks for a great night Fulton Lounge!
Report This ReviewThis place is a flashback to the 80's. Time for a refresh. Watered down drinks and a crowd that is not pleasing to the eye. It was so bad it was funny,
Report This ReviewI had been in this bar for about 30 minutes with about 6 people when a busser/barback came over and told us that we had to move because a larger party had come in and wanted our place. These people may have made a reservation and/or paid for the space but there was no indication; there were no reserved sign and the server or a manager never said a word about a party coming in, so I'm guessing that the party just arrived and the staff decided that instead of having a full bar of people, they just wanted to cater to the party of 20 that walked in and push the rest of us out. And the server? I never saw her when my drink was low or when we were being told that we had to move but judging by the other reviews I guess that is normal. As someone in the industry who is always telling customers the cool hot spots of Chicago, I will not be telling people to go here.
Report This ReviewExperience:
While I did not eat there, the drinks were well-made and the service was fair. It took quite a bit of time for the cocktail waitress to notice I had joined the group, and as much time to get the drink after ordering it. After apologizing for the delay, she later brought a couple of complimentary martinis, and the service was just fine after that.
Final Thoughts:
The Fulton Lounge offers a simple and comfortable setting to relax and enjoy a few cocktails with friends and coworkers. The music matches the minimalistic decor, allowing for unstrained conversation...which is what makes Fulton Lounge so nice, it's actually a lounge. It's not a club, it's not a bar, it's not where you need to be seen, it's a place where you go to relax.
I get dragged to new lounges regularly, especially for art openings and parties I have to go to. But I end up back here, it is a comfortable place to chill in, but it doesn;t have the artisitc coldness that seems to permeate many upscale modern lounges.
Being a >2x a week visitor and I spend >300 a month here (as much as I hate to confess it...more fodder for the myspace blog) I feel compelled to write a review. I have never had anything but courteous service from both bar and waitstaff. In fact, even when I have asked for something a little unusual they have always been accommodating. The mojitos are fairly authentic to what I have had in the Caribbean--i.e. not too too strong and plenty of fresh mint and sugar. Mojitos are not meant to make steam shoot out of your ears. (I did bartending).
The bar looks like an upscale condo so there's a feeling of space and it is a good place for private conversations, especially for your good pals and business friends. Even when strangers have invited themselves into our conversations, no one's ever been rude in any way.
For chill times pick a weeknight; the busier and more singles type scene would be weekends.
I love this place and eat too much of the excellent pizza (from Follia next door) every time I'm here.
Report This ReviewI had high hopes for this place, but my hopes were dashed. The decor looked ok, but the scene was not. My girlfriends and I went for some drinks after work and were ready for some fun. But the rude staff put an end to that. The service was slow and the cocktails were weak. I am not sure how this place survives. Maybe it was just a bad night, but sadly, I don't think we'll give it a second chance.
Report This ReviewIf you are looking for watered down drinks, bad music and an "unhip" scene, then the Fulton Lounge is for you!!! There are so many more better places in Chicago...just search Metromix. Fulton shouldn't be around much longer. That's good news.
Report This ReviewI really like this place--it might have to do with the fact that I always get there early and grab a table but I have a really good time unwinding here with a cocktail or five. The atmosphere is cool but just short of being too sceney to feel uncomfortable.
Report This ReviewThis place was great!! We walked in and within five minutes had a table. The drinks were great, the service was ok- the cocktail girls were really slow!!! I would come back though, the place is great!!
Report This ReviewAtmosphere would seem pretentious, but it really wasn't. Waitstaff was friendly and quick. Only bad thing about this place is that you have to get there early in order to get a seat--other than that, this place was great.
