Best Hummus Ever!
By EnthusedFoodie from Forest Park, October 14, 2009

Stopped in Crimson early before a show at the Chicago Theater. The front door staff was polite "letting" my company though they didn't allow "sports clothing or hats". I took it with a grain of salt and was glad I did when later yuppies by the dozen poured in wearing t-shirts, gym shoes, and the now-in-fashion black baseball caps. The bartender was polite enough that I didn't get offended. He was attentive and recommended menu items. We ordered a few drinks and the hummus, which was excellent. This was the best hummus I've ever had, to date, and I frequent Mediterranean restaurants. The spice combo was delish. If you only go for this, go for it!

Horrible Place

I went to Crimson Lounge last night. The line was very long, yet the place was awful. I will never ever go again. From the beginning to the end, the people who worked there were so rude!! They exemplified the worst in snobbery by the staff of clubs. The men at the door were nasty to us, and the bartender (dark hair, male) was rude to me because I talked loud when I ordered my drink (and that of my friend) He actually ignored my order and then when i asked him again, he said he doesn't respond to yelling without even looking at me. I am a very polite person; the club was just loud. I explained that I didn't know if he could hear me and he still didn't take my order. I felt so insulted. The staff there treat the customers like crap. I live in the Streeterville area, so this could have been one of my go - to spots. It's only a short cab ride. But never again. Just because you are acting like a classy club doesnt mean you should act like snobby pretentious jerk to people. Perhaps they should tell the staff that.We stayed about 30 minutes before leaving. The music wasn't that great either. And the place is kind of small.

We held a Murder Mystery here in one of the private glassed rooms. It rocked! Food was awesome, our server attentive. Management accomodated my every request!

Beautiful lounge, bad service

Went there on a Tuesday night when there weren't that many people there. We were there for awhile before we decided to find the server ourselves. She brought the drinks out and never came back again to see if we wanted more drinks. Had to go find her again, and then again to get the check. Nice decor but there are plenty of other bars in Chicago that'll require less effort on our part.

Don't know why people don't go here...

Very NYC, very cool decor. The lounge is actually quite big, and there are tons of plush chairs and table areas. We went here before a concert at the House of Blues, and was shocked there were not more people there for pre-partying. With good marketing, this place should be in the same catagory as Jbar..

Came for the drinks, stayed for the jazz

I recently moved to Chicago from NYC. Last night some co-workers asked me to join them for drinks after work at the Crimson Lounge. They told me that the drinks, appetizers, and atmosophere were great, but we had no idea about the real attraction - the cocktail hour jazz. Petra, the torch singer, was the best I've seen since I left New York. The Crimson Lounge on Wednesday nights is Chicago's best kept jazz secret.

Really lame....

This place blows. Been there three times (once when it first opened, twice this season to meet up with friends). It's always empty, way too pricey, and extremely sloooow service. The decor is pretty cool, but it's trying too hard to be flashy. Not going back there.... ever.

Crimson Lounge Hotel SAX
By annaborden from lincoln park , December 1, 2007

My girlfriends and I went to Hotel SAX Crimson Lounge for a Fashion show on a Thursday night. We had such a wonderful experience. Our waitress ( cute little blonde - she looks super 50's retro - georgeous ) was the sweetest server we ever had. We ordered bottle service and she completley exceeded the standard cocktail waitress norm. The service is impeccable, the staff is beautiful, and the ambiance is by far the best in Chicago for sure! I highly recommend Hotel SAX Crimson Lounge.

I have to agree with...

I have to agree with Ford878. A Paparazzi wall? This place is just like every other lounge in the city. Nothing new or different. You can go to any other lounge and it would be just like this one. Save your time and go to one of your old Fav's.
