Waited forever to be seated when there were seats/booths in the back not even filled up. Had to sit at skinniest table ever in bar. Food took forever to come. My friend’s burger was not done to her liking and they just said “oh well, it looks done.” My “health club” was not a club and in fact just a bad sandwich of either stale bread or very very lightly toasted bread which made the sandwich fall apart AND they forgot one of the ingredients to the sandwich. All in all, not the best experience. I agree with another reviewer below. If you want the original, go to Rockit or Hub 51 for sure.
Report This ReviewLoved my experience at Bull and Bear!! I only wish it was easier to move around and get to the bar (maybe smaller bar stools). This bar is way better then Market!! I brought some clients here after a bad experience with the management at Market and my clients were thrilled. The manager here was amazing...thin guy with brown hair. He greeted us and asked us how we were a few times. What a difference great staff makes. Hot bartenders too! Thank you.
Report This ReviewGreat service. Good energy. Crowd is on the trendy side. The guys here love their hair gel. A bit crowded and difficult to move around if you don't have a table. The only problem was that a very drunk girl projectile vomited all over my friend. For some reason the booth and floor were cleaned up immediately but I had to throw a tantrum at the mgr to get them to bring us some towels to clean her off. Eventually we got them and they compensated us with a round of drinks.
Report This ReviewService was good, friendly. But nine dollars for a one-ounce Dewar's? Served by a 24-year-old child. I challenged her on it to no avail.
Report This ReviewI can't speak for the food, but in terms of a bar hangout in the loop this place is awesome. It's not too big, so you do not spend half an hour walking around the place looking for friends; the drinks are a reasonable price too.
It's safe to say that the staff is hot. Whoever did the hiring got it right. The cocktail servers walking around are quick and friendly, and the bartenders poured a strong drink (at least in my case). The beer taps at the table are a novel idea, and make drinking beer that much easier when seated at the table.
I would recommend this bar to anyone who wants a good place to go. The music wasn’t too loud, and the people are pretty.
The only semi-negative thing I can say is that this place gets PACKED. I guess that speaks wonders for them, but for me it got a little too crowded.
Definitely a place to go though!
I love this place. I mean there aren't a lot of great sports bars in the city. I mean sure theres lots of bars that slap tvs ont he wall serve beer and food, but this one does it with style. I mean the decor is awesome. I love the design of the place. The lighting is cool! Food is way beyond what you would normally get at a bar. I would try the wings, hummus, salmon, skirt steak and pork chop. I don'tr know about he specialty drinks bc I am a plain vodka soda drinker but they looked cool! Servoce was very good for being so crowded! I have been back a coupke of times and have found it to be my new hang out especially for cubs games!
Report This ReviewGreat looking staff, wonderful service, and was a perfect spot to entertain clients while watching sports on TV. We took down a table w/ tap which was a nice novelty however it was funny to think back the following morning that my hangover was due to tap beer which I paid a premium for. Overall- a great place for Chicago- look forward to going back very soon.
Report This ReviewNot so impressed and probably will not go back. If I'm a paying customer, I expect nothing less than good service especially if one claims to be better than average. Aside from the great music and nice interior...we had a reservation which was pointless to make because my party was not sat til 20min after time requested and food was nothing to brag about. My fries were cold, the MR burger I ordered was well, not sure if it was the waitress or the kitchen who messed up but she never cared to ask why I didn't even finish half of my plate.
Report This ReviewI have heard a lot of mixed reviews about this bar, and some fit and some didn't. First of all it took us a long time to be seated, even though there were a lot of open tables. As someone else mentioned on here, the hostess kept saying they were waiting for reservations. A few didn't even show, and we were stuck waiting. This put me into a bad mood until our server (I think her name was Diane) came to our table. She was really warm and friendly and made me feel as if I was welcome there. She gave us good recommendations and I really liked the boneless wings. The tvs are great and the music was good. I'll go back again and request the same server but I wouldn't wait in the line again.
Report This ReviewOk, most Chicago bars are narrow, but this one is not as bad as people mentioned.
It is more a HOUR GLASS shape as there is a bar in the front with area to work & bar towards the back. The booths are on your way towards the back & although we did not have a chance to sit at one (get beer from the table tap), we did have a chance to sit outside at a table for 8. They had about 12 tables, which is alot for this type of bar (area).
