The menu at Bar Louie, which caters to a 20-30 year old clientele, many of whom are employed by local bars and restaurants, features a healthy selection of sandwiches such as the muffuletta, a mix of salami, smoked ham, provolone and spicy olive mix on focaccia bread, and the signature burger topped with grilled onions, mozzarella cheese and giardiniera sauce. The menu also offers appetizers such as buffalo wings, calamari and quesadillas. The kitchen is open until an hour before closing. The room, with dark wood paneling and accented by colorful tile and mirrored shards, is long and narrow and dominated by a long bar. Tables are available both inside and outside on the sidewalk during clement weather. Two televisions at either end of the bar get little notice. Music selection is based on whatever the bartender of the moment feels like popping into the CD player behind the bar.
