Worth checking out!

I went into the Aberdeen on Friday night and they appeared to be pretty busy. The whole crowd seemed happy and the staff appeared to be having a good time. Single guys take note: hot girls everywhere!!! However, most of the girls seemed to be more interested in flirting with the REALLY HOT bartender than talking to other customers. The bartenders were good and fast and they clearly know what they are doing. I find this bar impressive because they cater to a mixed demographic. On one hand, you have a bunch of people who only drink beer (they have a Hopleaf-esque vibe...but not as good), and on the other hand you have a crowd that drinks martinis and upper-scale mixed drinks, such as the Aberdeeni. Not all is great at the Aberdeen, however. They have no Absolut and their tequila selection is quite limited. Also, they only have six beers on tap. Lastly, the dj sucks! He only plays 20 seconds of each song, and it seemed the more the crowd was getting into it, the shorter he would play it! He also started singing at one point! What dj does that?!?!?!
Overall, a good experience, and I will definitely be coming back. The drinks were good (try the Blue Beach), the bartenders were fast and nice, and the crowd was laid back and fun. Worth checking out!

The cursed corner continues

Great spot for a bar, but this place has no identity. I went when the bar opened and had a great time, nice and laid back. I then went the other night and it has slowly turned into any other bar in Chicago. We had great food when we first went. Now it looks like they are cost cutting and portions are small. They amped up their beer selection, yet I can't get a Guinness on tap. I came away with the feeling that everything has been done half-assed. Hopefully things are figured out or the cursed corner of Bucktown will live up to it's name.

disappointment

We went there because a friend raved about the food but all of the items we were interested in were omitted on the newly changed menu. The website still advertizes the old and more appealing options that are no longer offered. The beer I asked for was out and sandwich I ordered was not what I asked for. So sad.

Great Crowd and a Great Sound

I was went in to watch the games on Saturady and wound up staying all night! I was really suprised the way they pulled off the change into more of a party scene at night with an awesome DJ.......good lookin crowd too!

New Wicker Park Hot Spot

Aberdeen is a great place to grab drinks and they have great bar food. They also have a bunch of plasmas and its a cool place to watch a game. I was there last weekend and this seems to be the new place to be in Wicker Park.

the bar is cool. Looks different than the the clubby bars that are around bucktown. i like the idea of a sports bar type during the week and days then a dance party at night. Bucktown is a great place to live and has a ton of character so why not have a cool neighborhood bar you can watch games at and go dance and drink on the weekends..licoln park can do it so why can't b-town?!?! Ill be going back

is it a lounge? is it a sports bar? is it a club? the only thing for sure is their service sucks (rude staff all around) and their prices are ridiculous for what they offer.
