Poor quality so close to Magnificent Mile

We ate at Rosebud on Rush after a day of shopping hoping for some good Italian food. We were greatly disappointed! Not only was our service HORRIBLE (we barely saw him and when he was there, he didn't give us his full attention), but the food was barely mediocre. I ordered the veal parmesan and there were definitely parts of the veal that was too tough to chew. We also felt extremely rushed. We weren’t even there an hour and we had appetizers, entrees, and coffee (we didn’t risk dessert). Overall, I would not return!

I haven't eaten at Rosebud in a couple of years and did the other night. Boy, was I dissapointed. The food was mediocre at best. We sat down at 7, were served by 7:05 and presented our bill by 7:25, before we even finished eating or drinking our bottle of wine. The waiter made us feel as though he couldn't get rid of us fast enough and was only interested in turning the table over. This will be my last trip to Rosebud. Given the restaurant's reputation and prices, I expected much more.

the food was totally mediocore. I've lived a few block from there and had never been there...and thankfully, we never will return! I had the pasta special of the day with shrimp, asparagus and tomatoes, and they charged $27!!! Really! I'd have been fine paying a high price if my entree was fabulous, but for well below average food, that seemed so ridiculous!

Rosebud - If you want average Italian food and terrible service, eat at Rosebud

Rosebud provided us with a mediocre dining experience and pretty tasteless food. We made an 8:00 p.m. reservation. They sat us at 8:15. We ordered salads and two pasta entres. The salads came immediately and before we were half-way done with the salads, the entres arrived and the waiter put them on the table. It seems as if the place was more interested in turning table (my wife and I noticed this happened at every table around us) than their patron's dining experience. The food was bland. For the money, there are several places close by and in Bucktown, Lakeview, the Gold Coast where you shoud dine (even Magginaos is better). My recommedation - don't eat at Rosebud.

Not a bed of roses

My husband and I heard good things about Rosebud so on Saturday we thought we would go there for dinner. Bad idea. It was just a pricey Olive Garden. Our waiter was not attentive, did not offer us ground pepper or grated cheese with our entree, and did not come back to ask us how our meal was. The entrees' were cold, the shrimp was lacking freshness, and the noodles were overcooked. Also, we had to ask another waiter to get our waiter for the bill. I am very sorry that I didn't get the Manager for this horrible experience. I will never go back to this restaurant or any other Rosebud affiliated restaurant.

2 years ago, i ventured to the rosebud for a birthday dinner and was sorely disappointed with the poor service, mediocre food, and long wait despite having a reservation. i vowed never to return. last week, a friend of mine made reservations for our party of 10 and actually called the night before to confirm the reservation. when we arrived, we were told that they did not have our reservation! unbelievable! we ended up waiting for an hour and were finally seated. the waiter was rude, pushy, and unattentive. the food again was unimpressive. please take your business to maggiano's or bucca di beppo. rosebud is not worth your time or money.

The seating is terrible but it reminds you of being in Europe since you are seated very close to your neighbor. I love the food and the wait staff is very attentive though they do get pretty busy at times. The patio is the best!

This restaurant is a landmark and lives up to it's reputation! Two co-workers and I went for lunch on Tuesday, plenty of room, service was good, food was average chicken parm, crab cake burger and chicken marsala, bathrooms were very clean. It took a whiler for the server to pick up the check for processing.
