This is my second time going to the D&M, and the first time I had the chance to get some food there. AMAZING. I had the Reuben sandwich and I was blown away. The service was great, the atmosphere was wonderful. Quiet and surprisingly not too crowded, and the prices can't be beat.
Report This ReviewI've been to the drum n monkey for afterwork drinks a half dozen times and have always had a good experience. The staff is friendly and the drink selection and appetizers are reasonably priced and really good. They have some decent drink specials on weeknights. While the appetizers are great, the meals are... typical pub food. I highly recommend the drum and monkey.
Report This ReviewMy husband and I discovered this gem a few months ago and have been back several times. Good crowd, jukebox, drinks, bartenders, atmosphere, everything! Not too big and not too small, this place is just right, every time we've gone there's been a decent crowd, but you can still find a seat at the bar or one of the tables. Not a lot of drunken college kids or tourists either. and they have the only Golden Tee 2008 I've seen since we moved to Chicago!
Report This ReviewOut of all the pubs and bars on Taylor Street, The Drum & Monkey is by far my favorite! The staff is very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is warm and quaint. The food is a good mixture of bar favorites, like quesadillas and burgers, as well as Irish staples, like fish & chips. Prices are very reasonable and they have great daily specials. Karaoke nights are a plus, and the only place you can find it on Taylor Street!
Report This ReviewThey have a small but excellent set of imports on tap. There are a lot of neighborhood and local workers coming and going which keeps the atmosphere upbeat. The food is good and I've always had good service when I've been here.
Report This ReviewThe Place is like a neighborhood singles bar with no emphasis to quality or service.
The bartender simply vanished to flirt with ...what can be guessed everyday customers while me and my friends were simply left to wonder. Finally when we got a table, we got another waitress who took our order, only to have our drinks take another half an hour.
when we complained....the waitress simply told us to buzz off!!!!!
nice decor, food was'nt bad either but really lousy service.
The Four Corners has a warm cozy atmosphere, that makes me want to go back. The servoce was wonderful, very polite and goodlooking ;) Everything I've tried from the menu has been amazing, and served beatifully. There is plenty of seating and I would recommend this place to anyone.
Report This ReviewThis place is so great: good food...a great place to go out with a group.
Report This ReviewMy fiance and I found this gem walking down the street. We were looking for something that was not the typical college bar scene and found it. Tony (one of the owners)was awesome and makes the best chocolate martinis in the city hands-down. The fire fries were filling and great; the waiter REALLY cute (I am allowed to look!). The atmosphere was laid back and the price right. What more can you ask for in a neighborhood bar?
Report This ReviewA group of six of us showed up for the World Cup final game. Most of the tables were already reserved, but the manager was so accomodating that he moved a large table from the back in order to seat us. In spite of the fact the place was packed, service remained super friendly - smiles from everyone. This is how to run a bar.
