Overall rating:

First visit to Poag Mahone's, rude server and dry burger. Thought I'd give it 1 more try - no carry out over lunch - not even a bowl of chili. Shouldn't be this hard to get a meal.

One of the best burgers in Chicago for $2.50 on Monday has attracted a diverse (and definitely not boring) group of burger and beer folks, with adult surpervision provided by bartender Erin. When the weather cools, also look for chef Eric's Guinness Beef Stew on the Specials menu. The half-price Nachos on Tuesday are excellent, especially when ordered as "Irish" nachos, with chile, pico de gallo, cheese, sour cream served on a bed of crispy french fries.

I went there for dinner and I have to say that the food was really good and the service was okay. I had this delicious baked mac and cheese and I would recommmen it to anyone.

Went to Poag's for a lunch meeting and it was great. The burgers were nice, big, and juicy. The place was a little dark to be a burger place but other than that, awesome place to grab some lunch.

Food is not as good as most people seem to think. I've been there a few times and only the burgers are worth ordering. Drinks are fine. Standard prices, but not a value for the food. Also, seems like portions are pretty small, again, except for the burgers.

I don't know about one of the best burgers in the country, but for the price, it's a good meal. Meat was kind of dry, but it was fresh and smelled really good. Also, go to their website to get a $5 gift certificate mailed to you for free.
