Moher, which is the first liquor license to be approved in the Edgebrook neighborhood since 1947 (owners tell us that's when the precinct was voted dry), opened in May 2005, much to the delight of neighbors who've had to travel to get a pint. Moher, which is an abbreviated version of the beautiful Cliffs of Moher in County Clare, Ireland, features a tin ceiling, stained glass and loads of dark wood (there's even a fireplace, which should come in handy over the winter). The menu features Irish fare like Guinness beef stew, beer-battered fish and chips, and bangers and mash, plus American choices like Philly cheese steak and pub burger. Irish beers are favored, with Guinness, Harp and Smithwick's on tap, plus blends like the "black velvet," with Guinness and Magner's Cider.
