We went there for lunch and I must say this place gets a thumbs up! The waitstaff were very attentive and the food was very good. We live in the area and we actually passed up this place several times. I am glad we finally decided to give it shot. We look forward to coming back, especially for March Madness.

I attended a party at Mahoney's last Saturday and had a great time! The service was great, the bartenders were friendly and the live music/atmosphere was awesome! Great place to go, grab and drink and have a good time with friends! Planning on going back soon!

awful service

I went there this weekend for a party that was $30 all you can drink and it took over 15 minutes for the flirty bartender to even ask what i wanted. Even after you would tell her what you want she would take another ten minutes to figure out where the right bottle is to make your drink. Did they not train her? Also who has only 2 bartenders all night for a place that big? This was probably the worst service I have ever received and the place is in the middle of no where. I will make sure to never go there again.

I've stopped by this new spot on more than one occasion, both lunch and dinner, I live in the neighborhood. My boyfriend likes to watch the game and I can bring my computer and do some work or surf the web, the whole place is wireless, very cool! Food's good too, not your typical fried bar food, instead they offer fresh salads, yummy sandwiches (lots of choices, try the turkey Reuben) great seafood gumbo if you have a craving. The service was attentive and we've never had to wait long for our food. Oh, and it's non-smoking, so you won't leave smelling like an ashtray :)

Great venue! The food is great, TV set up is awesome and the place is so big you can actually have a conversation with friends and hear yourself talk. Great spot for larger groups to get together!

A welcome change!

Westsiders rejoice! For too long it's been almost impossible to find an establishment in our neighborhood that offers excellent service, tasty morsels, a good drink selection, and enough TVs to make even the most die-hard sports fans feel happily overwhelmed. Mahoney's offers all of this - and more. I used to avoid Players like the plague for its poor service and horrible food. At Mahoney’s the staff was friendly and attentive, my burger was delicious, my game was on, and my beer was cold. What more can a girl ask for?

I like it!

I stopped into Mahoney’s for lunch a few times and I have to say I loved the place! The turkey Rueben that I order is divine, and their fries are excellent too. I’m not sure I understand where all the negative reviews are stemming from. It’s clear to me that the place is still in a growing stage, but that is part of what makes it cool…THEY LISTEN. The management wants to hear suggestions on how to develop the joint and include a comment card with every check. (When is the last time you heard that?) I saw some posters in the bathrooms about some pretty cool upcoming events with live music, etc. The place has things going on.

My service is always excellent, if you’re expecting a waiter in a tuxedo…well you won’t find that, but who wants that? The girls are sweet and smart and were able to answer the questions I had about the menu. The bartenders are quick with a joke and quicker with a refill. Mahoney’s is obviously still having some growing pains, but in my opinion with the team that it has behind it, it is one of the places to watch closely in the upcoming months. It’s bound to be the next hot spot of Chicago.

So disappointing.

We used to love Player's. Great food, nice employees and not a bad place to watch a game. This place is abysmal. The food is sub-par bar grub, the employees are unattentive, and the management is..... well.... clueless and arrogant.
Let's keep the Lodge Management businesses down where they belong... on Division
Hope we get a new place in that spot sooner rather than later.
